Hi Kelley

I mix with pineapple juice and draw up in syringes, then syringe (carefully)

into the inside of his mouth, you have to give DMSA 4 hourly so this works

wonderfully for the night time rounds.

My son was so so the same..only purees because his oral apraxia was so

severe..this on top of apraxia. Yes you can open capsules and mix into things

like pear sauce etc. Thats what we did. Still do, even though he eats solids

fine now, because we havent worked on swallowing pills yet.

I'd try oral DMSA.

Mom to Eli age 4

round 60 ..6 mg ALA/DMSA

There is no way I could get him to swallow a pill and he gets very upset if he

thinks I'm " making " him take something. Does anyone crush the pills and mix with

something to make an elixir? Also, what about the transdermal DMSA, has anyone

had success with that?

Hi Kelley,

DMSA is generally available as capsules. Many open the capsules and mix

contents with acidic juice. Some give it using an oral syringe, particularly

the nighttime dose.

I'm thinking about chelating my son using the AC method. He just turned four and

he has a lot of oral motor issues. He doesn't chew food, just takes purees.

There is no way I could get him to swallow a pill and he gets very upset if he

thinks I'm " making " him take something. Does anyone crush the pills and mix with

something to make an elixir? Also, what about the transdermal DMSA, has anyone

had success with that?

Thanks,

Kelley
