Guest guest
Try saffron. There are studies showing it's just as effective as Prozac without any side effects whatsoever. I have been taking it, and do think it's quite good--a definite mood booster I ordered mine off of Amazon: _http://www.amazon.com/Saffron-Supplement-120-tablets-Beneficial-Benefits/dp /B000EACDO2/ref=sr_1_15?ie=UTF8 & qid=1294288372 & sr=8-15_ (http://www.amazon.com/Saffron-Supplement-120-tablets-Beneficial-Benefits/dp/B00\ 0EACDO2/ref=sr_1 _15?ie=UTF8 & qid=1294288372 & sr=8-15) It also has some other really random benefits, like it's thought to help macular degeneration, baldness and weight management. But it's easy and relatively inexpensive in extract form, with no bad effects, so worth a shot. In a message dated 1/5/20i11 1:50:47 P.M. Guest guest
If I get depressed and stay that way for more than 3 days, it almost always means anemia. I don't go through that anymore now that my anemia is well controlled (basically gone). I have read that arachidonic acid (AA) has been linked to depression: http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2005/05/050525161319.htm Some of my thoughts on how to reduce AA and promote the good oils in the body can be found here: http://healthgazelle.com/peanutconnection.shtml HTH. Guest guest
Do you have dental amalgam fillings? I've found this type of thing to be related to low thyroid function, lack of essential fatty acids, and hormone imbalance mostly. You could look at taking flax oil or cod oil daily. making sure your thyroid isn't slow. Adrenals are working. And try lithium orotate or aspartate. It can help while you sort out the cause. It's almost always biological. Jan > > I have been mildly depressed for a while now. It comes and goes. I wanted to know if anyone has tried an herbal supplement that helps. Guest guest
I took St. 's Wort for two years following the loss of my youngest brother and my father within a short time period. It took about six weeks to kick in but it helped immensely. I also took Kava for part of that period of time. I knew I no longer needed it when I started forgetting to take it.... Hope you find a solution.....
