I went to http://www.drugdigest.org/DD/Home

clicked on "check interactions", and looked for interactions among aspirin, methotrexate, mobic, and ibuprofen. This also checks for certain foods and herbals. I found five interactions that are all poorly defined and vary from minor to major in severity. The site has a paragraph describing each interaction.

Alcohol - aspirin, poorly documented, minor severity.

Aspirin - ibuprofen, poorly documented, minor severity.

Methotrexate - alcohol, poorly documented, major severity.

Methotrexate - aspirin, poorly documented, major severity.

Methotrexate - ibuprofen, poorly documented, major severity.

Mobic did not appear in any of the interactions. I have not used alcohol since being diagnosed with RA but I have used (with doctor's permission) aspirin, ibuprofen, and methotrexate all at the same time. The interactions with Methotrexate are the reason we have periodic blood tests to check on liver function. With these checks any beginning problem will be caught in time to change medications or other treatment and before serious side effects occur. God bless.

If you are already on a pain med it's not a good idea to add another to the mix, IMO.

I am on 200 mg on Celebrex once a day, if I am feeling crummy, then I will take another in the evening. I have taken 1 500 mg 8 hour Tylenol in the past, and a nurse told me that I could take Tylenol and Celebrex together.

Rheumy said I could "have a glass of wine on a Saturday night" while taking MTX.

However, he said not to drink on either side of the day that I take the MTX, and he recommended that I take the MTX on a Wednesday.

I am aspirin sensitive, but I can take Celebrex.
