Feeling hot inside the body

My neurotypical son complains regularly of feeling hot inside his body. He says

that he feels heat in his head and arms but his skin is cool.

Does anyone have any ideas what could cause this symptom?

His thyroid seems fine based on the labwork, his cortisol seems to be OK in the

a.m. but then falls and ends up at the low end by noon and end of day.

Any leads would be really appreciated, I have no idea how to help alleviate this

symptom.
