Guest guest
Here is information about mito cocktail Typically for mitochondrial dysfunction a mito-cocktail can be used. A typical mito-cocktail consists of the following in the following dosage. One doctor from Hopkins states the under as the constituent of a mito-cocktail. Carnitine 50 mg/kg/day (22.72mg/lb/day) Thiamine 15 mg/kg/d() Riboflavin 15 mg/kg/d Pantothenate 15 mg/kg/d Coenzyme Q10 5 mg/kg/d Some give 10mg for the first 2-3 months Vitamin E 15 mg/kg/d Vitamin C 25 mg/kg/d Lipoic acid 15 mg/kg/d I have described how to use Carnitine in the section above under Methyl-B12. I will describe here how to dose L-Carnitine. We started L-Carnitine at a slow rate although above it states 22.72mg/lb/day. We started L-Carnitine at 7mg/lb of body weight per day. So start DS with 200mg of L-Carnitine per day. Although a mito cocktail consists of Alpha Lipoic Acid, we will not add this for DS as he will be getting that while following the Andy Cuttler protocol. Always give L-Carnitine in the morning with a FAT, like COD LIVER OIL. The mito Coenzyme Q10: Coenzyme Q10 is also a part of the mito-cocktail. The dosage is as follows: 2.27mg/lb of body weight per day. That means for DS at 28 lbs you can start him with 60mg/day and then increase it depending on his weight. You should give it to him at the same time in the morning as L-Carnitine, with a FAT, like COD LIVER OIL. Although the recommended dose is 2.27 mg/lb, I think we should start really small at 1mg/lb/day. So let's start this at 30mg/day for DS and increase the dosage gradually to 60mg/day. Always use Pure-Encapsulation brand of CoEnzyme-Q10. I ordered the liquid brand, which is expensive. It already has fish oil in it, so I think it should be good. I guess we could start with 2.5ml of this liquid, which would contain approximately 50mg of Coenzyme Q10. > > Can someone please refresh my memory on all the supplement components of the Mito Cocktail? > > Thanks in advance, > > Hope >
