e,

What a tough situation for you and your little guy! I actually have a

friend whose son has MRSA in his ear also. If your son won¹t take the

antibiotics see if the doctor has an injectable antibiotic that is effective

against MRSA. If not, you really have no choice but to do the IV. You¹ve

got to treat MRSA aggressively or it could spread or be fatal.

How are you getting the probiotics and multi/min down him? Liquid, drink?

Some may not like this idea, but is there a capsule form that you can open and

put in some water and sugar. When I was a kid, that is how my mom got us to

swallow what few pills we took. My friend just did it for her 7 year old,

worked with no issues.

If not swallowing capsules, start working on it. Kirkman Labs has a nice small

hypoallergenic Vit C, actually lots I use are really small capsules in the

hypoallergenic series. Great little pill and inexpensive to practice getting

down capsules. Show him, how easy, fun, get others to join in.

Good luck.

Who told you that? A co-worker's wife had MRSA and had been in and out of the

hospital for a year. The doctors finally told her there was nothing more they

could do. I told her to try OLE, and it eliminated the MRSA within 30 days.

Thanks for the responses. The way we get the multi in him is in his orange

juice which I've been mixing like this for 2 years so to him, that is what OJ

tastes like. The probiotic is a little more work because it doesn't dissolve

but since it has virtually no flavor it's not bad.

They ran a sensitivity to the bacteria and it was sensitive to 2 drugs, both

which we tried and they are awful, smelly and gritty. There is no injectable or

topical. Anything that doesn't need to go through his GI system is always

preferable to me, but nothing turned up other than these two meds which are

either oral or IV (even if we did a hep lock, it's still at least 3x day and I

don't think they would do that outpatient).

I would be willing to try the OLE- where can I read about the protocol? He's

only 40lbs. Is it oral? Am I going to have the same problems with mixing it-

taste, texture, amount...etc..

I started with 250mg and worked up. I used capsules, but it also comes as

liquid. It does taste bad, altho it would mix well with tomato juice or

something " Italian " like spaghetti.
