red tongue with raised bumps

Hi all,

my son has these symptoms; red tongue with raised taste buds/bumps, scratchy

voice, generally not quite himself.Lymph nodes may be slightly swollen, I can't

really tell. He had a mysterious small rash show up prior to these symptoms. It

was next to his eye, and was red with a few small white bumps in it. It dried up

and flaked off in about 5 days.

He does not have a fever, has been eating, he says his throat hurts, but that

was after I asked him a few times and he said it didn't (you know how our kids

can be).

Any ideas?
