Guest guest
Hello group, Our DAN doctor prescribed DMPS drops - 15 drops topically as a means of getting the metals out. I have been reading from the board about the AC method. So I am torn as to which method to use. HAs anyone tried the DMPS drops? Is is effective? Where can I read up on the AC protocol. Thansk guys. Want to start chelation next weekend, need all the information I can find.
Guest guest
Florence, You can certainly use DMPS as a chelator safely to remove metals, but DMPS won't remove the metals from the brain, so at some point you would want to add ALA. Like any chelator, DMPS should be dosed based on it's half-life, which is 8 hours. So, I'm not sure how big your child is, but a dose of maybe 4 drops, every 8 hours would be a reasonable way to start. If you have been told every other day, do know that with that chelation schedule regression was actually expected, and even named " horns and tail " as if regressing is some sort of cute outcome. The regressions I've read about are not cute in any way. Developing more extreme metal problems because redistribution has allowed more metals into places like your CNS is serious, not cute. If you look here http://home.earthlink.net/~moriam/ you can read about the AC protocol. If you look in the files under supplements you can read about Andy's recommended supplements. Dosing every 8 hours is very easy--you don't lose sleep and you can even do fairly long rounds because the 8 hours schedule won't interfere with school or work. I would never recommend to anyone that they dose dmps at longer intervals. Anita > > Hello group, > > Our DAN doctor prescribed DMPS drops - 15 drops topically as a means of getting the metals out. Guest guest
Must I do a hair test first and if so where do I go for testing? Guest guest
You don't have to do a hair test but the results help you have a better idea what you're dealing with (lead? mercury? arsenic?) which may influence your decisions regarding which chelator(s) to use. It can also help you search for and remove sources of exposure. You can order a DDI (Doctor's Data, Inc.) hair elements test without a doctor through DLS (Direct Lab Services). If you mention this group they'll give you a discount. If you post results here we can help interpret the results. S S Re: Need help - which chelation? Guest guest
We've followed DAN advice like IV DMPS (thankfully only twice) and suppositories and fortunately learned about AC chelation before messing up too much. We saw limited positives and unpredictable negatives like uncontrollable yeast, food reactions, irritability emerging. I have been on various boards for the past two years and have not seen any testimonials for transdermal DMPS drops. The reason I switched to AC protocol was because I couldn't find anyone whose kids FULLY recovered (no supplements, no diet, no support) using DAN chelation, but plenty of posts seeking help for new behaviors or issues. Meanwhile there are lots of parents seeing gains from AC chelation and some nice full recovery stories. It is a lot easier to get good support from people who have used the same protocol - fewer unknowns and variables. It is easier to stop. I believe chelation is one area where parents can do real damage by using high doses or doing things inappropriately. We had good results with oral DMPS every six hours, and now use DMPS+ALA or DMSA+ALA or just plain ALA, all orally using Cutler frequent low dosage protocol. Yeast control and antioxidants are very important, as is immune support if using DMSA. Good luck, Jo > > Our Dan doctor prescribed DMPS drops (15 drops topically every other day) for my child as a way of getting the metals out. I have read through the posts about AC chelation. I am torn as to which one to use. HAs anyone tried the drops? How effective is it. Where can I get information on the AC protocol. Need all information as I would like to start to chelate next weekend. > > Thanks guys for your help. > > > > >
