I paid cash for any hair testing and didn't submit to Blue Crosse, so can not

help you there But they paid 100% of any testing I did with Great Plains. Not

sure if they still work with Great Plains, did the organic oat test. Was a huge

help. My ped had to sign the lab work form. I collected everything and sent it

in with my insurance info that they needed.

Hope this info helps you in anyway. Give them a call?

[ ] will insurance cover directlabs.com as out of

network coverage?

Our insurance is bluecross blueshield. After meeting certain deductibles, it

covers 60% out of network costs. I am wondering if I can order lab through

www.directlabs.com and some reimbursement from my insurance.

Have anyone tried that? Does insurance company really care who order the lab

and why it is ordered? I am able to get reimbursement from my DAN’s out of

network lab order. I want to do it through directlabs.com so I can get results

without another dr. appointment.

Thanks

Tammy,

thanks for your reply. Do you mean you order from directlabs.com then have your

ped to sign the lab form? I thought directlab.com has a dr to order the lab kit.

I think it is hard to get an answer from the insurance company for this type of

questions, they will ask me to talk to my dr. the best thing with directlabs.com

is you don't have to deal with a dr ;-)

When I did my hair testing, I didn't use my doctor and just paid cash out my

pocket and ordered the test myself. Didn't submit anything to get reimbursed

for out of pocket type thing for insurance. But where I used to work, we had

paper work to submit to our insurance company to get reimbursed for certain

expenses, a claim form.

Great Plains, you can order the kits on line. I think most kits are free, not

sure so check it out. For my insurance to cover, they send you the paper work,

you'll need to fill it all out, submit your insurance info and my doctor put in

the necessary coding and signed. They covered 100%. This was maybe 3 to 4

years ago. We had great plan, $20 office visit, all paid after. No deductible

type thing. Now HSA.

,

I've never had PPO insurance pay for anything not ordered by a doctor. However,

I was able to get the hair test that I ordered from directlabs.com reimbursed

from my Medical Flexible Spending Acct last year. I had to send extra info from

the website about what a hair test was, but they did finally reimburse it.
