Hi ,

Sorry to hear about your discomfort. I took the stool softener from the

ortho and when I went to see him, he asked if I was getting around the house,

I told him, YES, thanks to YOU......he just chuckled. Nothing worse than a

bloated tummy, a sore hip and unable to get rid of what is bothering you.

Hope your remedy takes action QUICK!

When we had the pool and spa built, got the doctor's note and the tax man

said because my husband and kids used it, could not be taken off. Now my

neighbor who is in school to be a CPA says that it all has something to do

with the appreciation and value of your house and what it was before and all

this other stuff. Bottom line.....I got nothing from Uncle Sam for this

investment. Oh well, such is life.

Gentle, tender, feel better fast, angel hugs,

Debs,

I was told that I could deduct 1/4 of the cost of my pool and hot tub because

there are 4 people that

use it. I now deduct 1/3 of the operating expense since we're now a family of

3.

I hope my accountant didn't give me bad info or I'll owe at least 15 years worth

of bad deductions!

I've posted about this before, but not sure I asked this particular question:

do any of you know how I can find a saltwater hot tub? the kind that uses NO

CHEMICALS?

I may be in the south, but when it does finally get cold down here each year,

it's a WET

cold which spells

P-A-I-N. I think a hot tub is what I need.

Try a hot tube that uses an ozonator and bromide for disinfecting. My

mom uses none chlorine method in her pool and it works great.

Ruth,

Not harmful as long as one doesn't stay in longer than 15-20

minutes. But this is the 'norm' for all people and any tubs I've

been in. This is because the water temperature is 104 degrees

Fahrenheit. Long exposure might result in discomfort, nausea,

dizziness or fainting. Best to use with someone if possible.

There *MAY BE* some risk due to the high temperature and humidity,

so check with your doc.

People with medical conditions such as, high blood pressure, heart

disease, respiratory problems and those who are pregnant should

avoid exposure to high heat and humidity. If you have an open wound or sore,

even a scratch, stay out because infection is possible.

So depending on where you and your CMT are in this 'mix', try it for

short periods. I personally can only stay in for about 10 minutes.

It just gets too hot. Afterwards, I also rehydrate by drinking a

bottle of water.

Thanks so much, Gretchen, for your information. I don't have blood pressure

problems, so I assume it's safe. I live close to San Francisco Bay, our mornings

and evenings are often chilly and damp, and the hot tub is so soothing to my

aching muscles. I also have access to a sauna, and I assume the precautions are

the same.

BTW, I just found out that my Kaiser Health Plan provides a discount for certain

outside services, including massage. I'm planning to add regular massage to my

self care program.
