I'm concerned about the use of DMSA due to this study that showed " lasting

cognitive and and affective dysunction " in rats treated with DMSA.

In contrast, succimer treatment of rats not previously exposed to Pb produced

lasting and pervasive cognitive and affective dysfunction comparable in

magnitude to that produced by the higher Pb exposure regimen.

Does anyone have any explanation why DMSA could have caused this? I'm concerned

that over time these effects could be observes in humans as well with continued

use of this chelator.

Maybe low-dose DMPS would be safer?
