Hi,

I'm a father with a 2 year old on the spectrum. I definitely believe

in biomedical treatments but I would like to gain some inspiration

during these hard times to see somebody's model for preparing for

chelation, chelation and then actually seeing the before and after in

specific detail. We are just beginning to treat yeast with

prescriptions. Would anyone be willing to share this with me?

Thanks,

Ben

Hello Ben,

It's great that you are getting started. You are in the right place to learn.

Can't give you an after, because we are still going, but...

- We started chelation with my older boy a year ago Feb. He started out being in

the middle of the spectrum " moderate " . Art a recent evaluation by a

phsycologist, he was diagnosed as being PDD-NOS. Which is not on the spectrum.

Some would call it mild autism. Huge difference. He is even playing little

league. Before chelation we could barely take him to the grocery store without a

total freak-out melt down.

- You will never get over the yeast until you get the metals out, you can just

try to keep a leash on the beast.

Read about proper chelation using the Andy Cutler protocol and lots of other

stuff in the files section of the group.

Hi and welcome. You are in the right place.

I prepared for chelation by starting my son on epsom salt baths and some of the

supplements listed in the " file " section. It took me a year to ramp up for

chelation because a DAN doctor recommended supplements that contained an

allergen for my son (soy), and he regressed more. I then fired him and took

matters into my own hands, but I researched the daylights out of everything - I

was terrified to screw up. At least if I did, it would not cost me $1000 for a

visit.

I decided which supplements by doing some searches on what the bare minimum

recommended supplements were. I then asked many questions to figure out which

supplements were best to get my son on (and how) with his unique needs on to

start chelation. I also muscle test, but that is not for everyone. I don't use a

DAN doctor and never used Rx meds for yeast, or any Rx meds since my son's

regression. As we cleaned up my son's diet, started therapies, added the

supplements, and used NAET for allergies, viruses, etc. we saw gains. We learned

to manage yeast with GSE and biotin. We treated for parasites and saw more

gains. We started chelation with ALA alone (no amalgams, no vaccines except the

ones 1.5 yrs prior which caused regression(we are 13 months in) and saw

improvements on the first round. I saw glimmers of the boy we had before

regression - my son regressed at 4.5 yrs old.

His ATEC at diagnosis (ASD, OCD, Separation Anxiety Disorder, and PTSD) at age 5

was a 65. It is now 2 yrs since his diagnoses and his last ATEC was a 19. We

continue with many therapies - OT, speech for minor articulation issues, RDI,

etc. We never did ABA. Alternative healing techniques, chelation, antivirals,

herbals, parasite treatments as needed, adrenal support, yeast management, a

clean diet, digestive enzymes, supplements, etc.

We have been able to cut down or even cut out some supplements and we no longer

need nightly epsom salt baths or so many digestive enzymes. We can occaisonally

" cheat " on the clean, organic, allergen free diet - about once or twice per week

- with enzymes. My child tested 4 grade levels ahead of his age academically and

we home school because of that. He does well educationally, we take trips, we

can go to the store (not always the best - fluorescent lights are still

bothersome), dresses himself, is fully and eloquently verbal, social,

considerate, sweet, loving, and plays appropiately. He is funny and has a great

sense of humor, and is learning to be independent as appropriate for a 7 yr old

(self care, entertaining himself, etc.). He has friends and they come to my door

and ask if he can come out to play. They dig in the mud for worms and frogs,

ride bikes, and build stuff, and make up games. He blends right in with all the

kids in the neighborhood and frankly is more " typical " than some supposedly

" typical " neighbor kids with undx'd ADD, APD, etc.

Unless I tell people, no one knows he has a spectrum disorder diagnosis. He's a

bit odd in that it is weird for a 7 year old to speak about the interests he has

(construction and design and architecture and building and the equipment - but

we just built a house, and coin collecting but my dh works in financial field

and he thinks by being into " money " he's being like his dad) and use the

vocabulary he has, but he's not really a " geeky Aspie " . He's a typical boy in

most respects.

Chelation - AC chelation - is our number one recovery tool. Not the ONLY one,

but the best.
