My son is a no-verbal boy. Soometimes, he utters some words. We started a DMSA

chelation 3 months ago. We are fortunate to have a friend whoes son went

throught a DAN protocol (200mg, 200mg, and 300mg a day for 3 days). He had a

high fever initially and overcame it. After one year, significant improvement

was observed. He is in the second year of DMSA chelation. We initailly

followed the AC protocol (25mg, gradually increased to a 50mg level). He was

happy during the cycle and was cranky when DMSA was off (I assumed the mobile

mercury hurt his nerve system). He had a dark, swollen area around his eyes and

those areas were very itch. Onetime, he had a swollen ear. After one and a

half month, We could not stop the last cycle of a 50mg level. My son felt

hurted extremely. We restarted feeding at a level of 25 mg. But, it's no use.

In sheer desperation, I put in 100mg of ALA in addition to 25 mg. It worked to

stablize his condition. I put him on 200mg of ALA and 50 mg of DMSA (twice a

day, feeding time 8:00am and 4:00pm) for 7 days. I noticed the morning dosage

lasted 8 hours because of the empty stomach and the effect of the afternoon

dosage was less. I switched back to DMSA (100mg, twice a day) for 3 days. My

son was very happy for 8 days. My son went back on DMSA (200mg (8:00am), 300mg

(4:00pm)) for 3 days and (100mg (8:00am), 100mg (4:00pm)) for 6 days. He is now

very happy after the feeding of DMSA stopped. No more itch and swollen facial

areas!
