Guest guest
Our 30month old daughter is in the hospital with severe pancreatitis and dehydration. We had been using some new supplements to support her(chiro s recommendation) and we are so afraid that it could have caused it...does anyone have experience with this severe of a reaction to metal detox? Ps...the supplement contained 5mg of glutathione, 10mg of ALA, some selenium, B vitamins etc...chiro told us it would help her body get rid of metals naturally--we didn t think it was all out chelation--she had 2 a day for 12 days..... any help would be greatly appreciated! the dr s say it is caused by viral or bacterial and our chiro says it isn t related.... thanks! Guest guest
Viruses OR medications (including enzymes and supplements) could have caused this. Pancreatitis means *inflammation of the pancreas*. To know the cause for sure, then check her blood for viruses. Look at the labs and you can tell. Do you vaccinate? (mumps vaccine?) That could have caused it. You also need to know if it is acute, chronic (long term), or abcess. Then you will know more. Pancreatitis is serious. > > Our 30month old daughter is in the hospital with severe pancreatitis and dehydration. Guest guest
thank you for responding! she was taking enzymes for children, SMI to kill yeast and Complete Glutathione. Is there anything in particular to look for in labs? the dr's haven't found anything yet. Yes, the last shot she was was MMR a year ago--then we stopped all shots-wish we would have stopped them sooner! I think it is acute....they said it looked like she had severe trauma(which we can't think of anything) except for her brother who has PDD--he frequently jumps on her and we are wondering if that bruised it.... thanks for the info! ________________________________ From: agirlnamedsuess21 <agirlnamedsuess@...> Sent: Wed, May 12, 2010 12:28:05 AM Subject: [ ] Re: Help--severe pancreatitis! Guest guest
- Even if the supplement was not implicated in this unfortunate turn of events for your daughter, may I highly suggest you look to the (Andy) Cutler, Frequent-Dose-Chelation group and chelation protocol when it comes to ANY supplement that includes ALA in it... ALA *must* be administered every 3 hours as it is a known chelating agent and it's half-life in the serum has been documented at 3 hours. Dosing ALA in doses divided by so many hours each day can cause metal redistribution and unwanted effects. Prayers are with your daughter, -Darius > > Our 30month old daughter is in the hospital with severe pancreatitis and dehydration. Guest guest
thank you for the replies! We just figured out that she was also taking a cardio cocktail which had l-arginine in it that stimulates the pancreas--we think that is what caused it.... ________________________________ From: <thorenstd124@...> Sent: Wed, May 12, 2010 10:27:53 AM Subject: [ ] Re: Help--severe pancreatitis! Guest guest
Could be the brother for the trauma issue. I have a son (6) that caused a torn ligament in the foot of my 13 year old by grabbing her leg when she walked past him. I constantly have to warn him also about jumping on or around his younger brother. Viruses are obvious by lab tests. Some viruses have specific lab tests (like influenza). Most you can tell by the CBC and sometimes symptoms. My guess is that this occurred as a combination of things: the MMR created a susceptible environment, the enzymes made her even more fragile and may have ulcerated the pancreas or caused some acute bleeding, then the brother jumping on her may have caused the final blow which caused the pancreatitis. That would be my guess. > > > > Our 30month old daughter is in the hospital with severe pancreatitis and dehydration.
