Guest guest
I am currently chelating my sone w/ 6.25 mg of DMSA every 4 hours round the clock, three days on, four days off (will be on Round #4 this weekend). Supporting supplements are on board and he seems to be doing well with it. It appears to be the one intervention that produced immediately recognizable results. We have been GFCFSF since March of this year (at the time of diagnosis of PDD-NOS). My son is almost 5.5 and weighs 54lbs. Up until this point, we have seen slow and steady encouraging progress but no immediate " WOW! " I am not trying to rush as I appreciate the importance of slow and steady but this is the bottom dose for his size. His heavy metal test showed elevated lead levels and I want the treatment to be as effective as possible since we are a little late to the game at this age. My question is if anyone has any advice on the timing as far as when and in fact, if I should raise the dose of DMSA. I do plan to add ALA as well but that presents another question. When do I know that the body burden it at a level where I can safely add the ALA? It may be that I need to test his lead level again before starting the ALA but I would really appreciate any thoughts or opinions on these two questions. Thank you in advance for your time in responding. I read daily the digest and have learned alot from everyone.
