Police: Man Hit Dad Of Autistic Child At Olive Garden

Man Confronted Father At Restaurant, Boynton Beach Police Say

Police in Boynton Beach arrested a man accused of punching the father of an

autistic child who was being loud and disrupting his dining experience at Olive

Garden.

Blankfield, 36, of Weston, was eating at the restaurant Saturday when he

asked the father of a 4-year-old boy at another table to control his child,

Boynton Beach police said.

According to the arrest report, the victim told Blankfield that his son was

autistic, to which Blankfield replied, " So what? "

Police said Blankfield started to curse at the father and confronted him,

punching him in the neck.

Other patrons at the restaurant intervened and separated the men.

Blankfield was arrested on a simple battery charge.

Police said while Blankfield was being transported to jail, he stated, " Good for

him. He gets what he deserved -- an autistic kid. "
