I take 1000mg twice a day, for about 3 months now. of course I am an adult,

so the dose would have to be lower but what?

Is anyone giving their child Taurine to help prevent seizures from coming

on?

My son's D.A.N. wants us to start him on Taurine as soon as possible, any

side effects?

Thanks in advance,

Vicki

Thank you Karla, I'm always very nervous starting something new,

especially since my son seems to be getting worse, I definitely don't want

something

to provoke seizures.

That's what I'm worried about, side effects & it's possibly provoking

more, severe seizures.

I don't know what to do?

although lab testing would indicate a need for taurine[low plasma levels

must be more to the story than just giving taurine.

Get him on anti-seizure meds, once under control has you considered trying AC

chelation.

No, he's not.

He's currently on B-12 Shots, prescribed from his DAN Dr. for the last 3

1/2 months & now, Taurine as of yesterday.

He also tested positive for strep. We have been testing & trying things

little by little to see what will work.

Also going to start a new Probiotic his DAN ordered for us, we are

starting that one today.

He has been on Probiotics in the past but this was is stronger.

Also Biotin will be reintroduced in a few months.

Is your son getting any magesium? My husband developed seizures and

they are under control with no prescription drugs. He's probably the exception

though. Just a thought.

Vicki,

There's some good info on seizures and anticonvulsants @

ARIsupport/

If you search under 'depakote' you'll find some recent trends-info I wished I'd

known years ago! For us gfcfsf has been the best thing we've done for seizures.

The episodes would occur many hours after eating an offending item so it was

hard to spot until we did total withdrawal. I'm sorry about the episodes - even

after all these years, it still is totally upsetting when they occur,
