Guest guest
Not sure where you live, but I do know...as we have this issue, also, that it is a natural occurance with certain types of rocks and water....it is usually not the radioactive type. What I was told is that if you chelate out the rest...the uranium will come too..you also might want to get a water filter that takes out that kinda thing. hth Ronni > > Still waiting on our son's results to come. > > While I'm waiting, I'm reading up on the counting rules, but in the meantime, how the heck did I get into the 95th percentile for uranium? My mercury is in the yellow too of the DDI hair elements results. My plan is to start chelation on myself starting this coming week, when I have the ALA and needed supplements ready. > > May I post my results in the File folder; I'd like to get some feedback on them? > > TIA, > > Sheila >
Guest guest
Wow. I have no idea. But it makes me remember going to Havasupai, the indian reservation at the grand canyon. It is one of the most beautiful places on earth. Took a long incredibly arduous day's hike to get down to the village, but there are three enormous waterfalls with plunge pools to swim in down there--it was at the time a secret vacation destination passed down from family to family and apparently very popular with Mormons. THe tribe live down there. The tribe members were all incredibly obese, living here in paradise a 5 hr mule ride or expensive helicopter ride from the surface and 70 miles after that from the nearest junction/store of any kind. I wondered about it, then looked it up. There's a uranium mine has rights to discharge into the river there. Surely enough, I had wicked food cravings while I was down there--they went away a week or so after coming back from there. Are there a lot of severely obese people where you live? Just curious. Good luck with starting the chelation. best wishes, Fiona > > Still waiting on our son's results to come. > > While I'm waiting, I'm reading up on the counting rules, but in the meantime, how the heck did I get into the 95th percentile for uranium? Guest guest
Hi Ronni and Fiona, We live in San Diego. Our suburb is heavily populated, but I'm not sure what the percentage is of obesity--definitely, no pun intended. San Diego has chloramine and now fluoridated water. We have a Berkey with the carbon and fluoride filters for our drinking water. I've been looking into whole-house filters to filter our bath and hose water, but haven't found one yet. Expensive, but our health is worth it. I'll check the municipal water website to look at the details on water treatment. We do have a lot of rocks here, can't dig an inch or two without hitting a stone. Thank you for the feedback. I'm starting chelation asap. Guest guest
I just uploaded my hair test, if someone could take a look and tell me what you think. Files; Hair Tests; Sheila M. Hair Tests I have an endocrinologist appt in a couple of weeks for adrenal/thyroid check. I wondered about my iodine on this test. I haven't finished reading the counting rules, so I'm not sure how to read it yet, but since it is so high in my hair I thought maybe it was being depleted out of my body. Thank you much, Sheila
Guest guest
Guess what, it's from your granite countertops. ( I am assuming you have them) Most people don t realize that there is radioactive material in their kitchen countertops. Guest guest
not always, you can put a geiger counter on it to find out. Guest guest
No granite here; we have tile...old tile, which could have granite, but I don't think so. We do live near a military base, about 5 miles away, but I don't know what kind of impact it would have. Not to sound paranoid, but I've noticed an increase in chemtrails above us in the last year or so. What the heck are we getting sprayed with up there? Comtrails don't last long in the sky, right? The trails I see overhead stay up there for longer than 30 minutes, sometimes still up there for almost an hour. I don't believe they are military planes though. I know I really need to decide on a water filter. Thanks, Sheila > > > > > > Still waiting on our son's results to come. > > > > > > While I'm waiting, I'm reading up on the counting rules, but in the meantime, how the heck did I get into the 95th percentile for uranium? Guest guest
Not particularly....except me and my husband...lol...but then I happen to be a Native American... lol Hubby is not Native..but it seems to me, that this might be a bit different. This reaction comes from the water running over the rocks, and the uranium being released into the water....this would be a slow assimilation...not in much larger doses as was for the Havasupi. As to the obesity on that rez...if you look into it you will see that it is very common on many rezes. Guest guest
What area are you from? Some areas like the Rockies are high Radon (a decay product of uranium) areas. Could also be a false reading. My son tested high for uranium. We redid the hair test a week after we got the first results. Everything was the same, EXCEPT for the uranium which went from in the red to negligble. All other hair tests have been good. Guest guest
We've chelated for 2 years. My kid lost his dx and his hair test shows normal mineral transport, though his mercury and a few other things are now high and off in a way that tells me we need to continue. His uranium is also now high, and was not before. We've NEVER had granite countertops in our last house or our new house. Neither grandmother has them either. He is not exposed to granite countertops anywhere that I can think of. However, I live near Three Mile Island - of the famous 70's accident. Grew up within 25-30 miles, and now live within 2 miles. I think it is from the soil. Also, interesting point - I spent a part of a summer in AZ on the Havasupai reservation as a teen. Gorgeous. Swam in those stunning pools at the base of the falls. > > > > > > Still waiting on our son's results to come. > > > > > > While I'm waiting, I'm reading up on the counting rules, but in the meantime, how the heck did I get into the 95th percentile for uranium? Guest guest
Sheila, My understanding from our MD is that you cannot remove uranium from the body. If you know otherwise I would appreciate your feedback as both my son and I had uranium in our hair at elevated levels. Interestingly, when we tested a variety of fertilizers sold in the US in 2001 we found uranium in almost, if not, all of them and as high as 168 ppm. Guest guest
Uranium is a natural element occurring in a lot of underground rock formations, like the Hawthorne formation in my area. Wells end up with uranium, radon, etc. in the water in many parts of Florida and in some other states. Dentist also use some crown products with radioactive waste, from places like Oak Ridge laboratory, because the Gov't essentially gives the toxic waste away to keep from paying for the high toxic waste disposal and storage cost. That's a common source of some uranium and beryllium, for example.
Guest guest
Hi Bernard, I read a past thread of yours regarding Uranium. Have you used anything that is effective to chelate it? Andy mentioned (he wasn't recommending, but worth a look-see) EDTA as a chelator for U, and there have been anecdotal results from mercury chelation also mentioned by others. I'd like to stick with ALA and possibly DMSA though, but would like to know about other possibilities if we don't show lessening of U with Hg chelation.
