Guest guest
Pam, It was not 12y but at age 6 when my daughter had her 3rd DPT - yes, I was a bit slow in getting vaccines for all 5 of my children as they didn't tolerate even the small numbers given in 70-80s. She developed a migraine pattern that evolved into seizures. It was all downhill from there. She's 25y now, better w interventions but not recovered. I'll never consent to another vaccine for her or anyone I love. She's been through a nasty deep injury at approx age 12y. It was before I had the vaccine connection and wealth of knowledge of this and other groups. I said no to the booster[just mommy instinct] that was strongly suggested-no negative consequences. > > Hi all, > > Any relevant concerns about giving the TDaP to a 12 yr old and 13 yr old (girl/boy) who... to the naked eye... appear NT? I believe the 13 yr old boy has some lingering motor planning and food intolerance/sensory issues but never needed intervention (and my husband thinks I'm crazy). Their 9 yr old brother is solidly on the spectrum. > > These are my oldest 2 kids. Both missing 12 yr boosters. No need for varicella according to titres. Father willing to postpone Guardasil, annual flu and mennigococcal vaccines indefinitely but really, really wants TDaP (or perhaps TD if I push hard enough). > > My daughter had negative titres to tetanus, pertussis and diptheria. Undectable levels. Son's titres not done yet. > > Thanks. I know the run-down on vaccines and I'm not happy about having to compromise here, but my husband (physician) is under the impression that the TDaP is one of the 'lesser evils' out there. I seem to recall that this vaccine is problematic for quite a few kids who wound up on the spectrum, but haven't heard about any risks at the 12 yr mark. > > So, please no lectures on the dangers of vaccines. I know all of that. > > Pam >

Guest guest
I can tell you that my ob/gyn ran my titers during my pregnancy and the results came back like a blank sheet. Absolutely no immunity to anything, not even low numbers, just nothing at all. They thought it was a lab error and ran it again. Same results. I had all my vaccines, as a child, an extra tetanus somewhere in there when I cut my hand open and couldn't remember when my last tetanus show was, and had all my boosters for college. My ob told me that as soon as the baby was born I should talk to my doctor about taking care of this issue. I figured why bother, they didn't work all the other times, I'm not getting shots. I just thought I had the same thoughts about not vaccinating my son. Kerrie In a message dated 9/19/2010 7:51:18 A.M. I've asked every Immunologist I have come in contact with in the last 5 years and the brain dead ones give me the pat answer that 5-10% of people fail to develop immunity even with vaccines. This percentage is true for MMR and maybe other vaccines, but not the DTP as it is given a total of 5 times so the likelihood of not being immune to these diseases is much more rare. Guest guest
----- Original Message ----- From: Pamela H Any thoughts on how I can bring that argument to my husband, ? ====>I would at least ask him to consider why the previous 4 vaccines have failed to produce an immune response. The one Immunologist who didn't just give me a pat answer and actually thought about it for awhile came back and said that he would have consider the possibility that anyone who failed to produce immunity to the DTP after 4 vaccines was in some way immune impaired because (a) most vaccines are less immunogenic in those with impaired immunity than normal individuals and ( the efficacy of many commonly used vaccines has not been established in people with impaired immunity. And he would recommend a full immunological workup for a child who had failed to produce an immune response to the previous 4 vaccines as © this vaccine is especially not recommended for those who are immunocompromised. I didn't need a full workup because I knew her immune system was likely not working because she was mercury toxic. But I did ask, and I don't know why if it's always evident that a child is immunocompromised. He said most of the time, yes, but there are cases in which this is not evident until many years laters; such as people who develop autoimmune conditions later in life. The interesting thing here is we got immunity to the Tetanus part of that vaccine, but an overexaggerated response....Tetanus immunity at more than 10 x the norm. So at least I know the vaccine she received was effective. Not sure I've helped or hurt here but I do sympathize with your plight and hope you find your answer. > > >> > > >> Has he read the insert? Guest guest
This happened to me while I was pregnant and they ran my Rubella titers. I think its pretty common in the community with adverse advents to vaccines to also not gain immunity with vaccines. Maybe that could get researched more to help the situation. All risk, no benefit. Guest guest
Nobody ran my titers or said anything to me while I was pregnant. They knew I worked as a teacher and that puts any pregnant woman in a higher risk bracket, especially if they don't hole titers to rubella. They never said a word until after I gave birth. they should have told me while I was pregnant, and then I could have avoided high risk situations. Thank God I didn't let them give me that shot since I was breast feeding. I read a study somewhere that when they kept vaccinating people without rubella titres there was a higher incidence of MS and scleroderma in these women who took the shot. I will try to find it. I also think this is what I read in Dr. McCandless' book. I could be wrong --I think I read that her daughter didn't hole titres to rubella. So I think moms not holding titres to rubella may be a huge bio marker for NOT vaccinating their offspring due3 to risk of " autism. " I'm not calling it autism anymore. My son was diagnosed with post-vaccinal encephalopathy and toxic encephalopathy along with heavy metal intoxication. I think this is what most of our children suffer from.
