Guest guest
Try to rub some Chlorphenamine liquid. Chlorphenamine can deal with medication allergic and rash, a doctor had ever told my mother, can crush the Chlorphenamine tablets (a small bottle) and add little water, then rub the liquid to rash skin (not to eat, eat with much side effect) 3 or 4 times a day. Often it do work 3 to 4 days.  JL ________________________________ From: DIANA <dmniemes@...> Sent: Fri, June 4, 2010 10:19:37 PM Subject: [ ] Bad Rash..Will it ever go away??  Our son, 23 months old, has had a bad rash on his belly and lower back for quite some time but for the past two days it's been a little worse and he even has some near his groin area. It's been getting real bad and he has scratch marks all over because it itches him. We had stopped giving him Epsom salt baths for a couple of days and it seemed to be doing better and now that we've started the baths again it seems to be worse than ever. Could he be allergic to the Epsom salt? Supplement wise, the only new thing we've been giving him is the 500 mcg of Mb12. I've even tried to increase his yeast protocol (GSE, OLE & No-Phenol) but the rash is still there or maybe getting worse because I've increased his yeast protocol. I was thinking of making a doctor's appt. so they can send him a cream but I would'nt want to put him a cream that could be harmful to him. Would cortizone be ok? Or could the Mb12 be causing the increase in yeast/rash, if so, should I be giving something else along with Mb12 that can help with the yeast and make his rash better? I feel very bad for him and just want to see his soft baby skin again:/ Any help/ suggestions please!

Guest guest
, Sounds like it might be eczema. Google it and see if the rash matches as there are several different types. For many spectrum kids, eczema is often caused by a shortage of Essential Fatty Acids. I would definitely try giving him fish oil to see if that helps. We used Nordic Naturals Omega Complete 3-6-9 originally to help my son's speech, but it had a side effect of clearing up eczema. Starting at 22 months, I gave my son 1 capsule/day (prick the capsule and squeeze out the liquid onto a spoon) in the morning. Within a couple of weeks the eczema was much improved and after 3 months it was totally gone and has never returned. Also, if it is eczema, these are some tips to try to keep it from getting worse. 1. Keep your son's nails trimmed short. 2. No HOT baths, tepid or warm only. 3. Use very little soap and then " Free and Clear " types only. The same with laundry detergent. 4. After bath, use Aquaphor or a cream ( we liked the Eucerin one with oatmeal) all over before putting on pjs. 5. Cotton/not stiff clothing only If it isn't eczema, it could be an allergic problem. Since it is on his belly and lower back, if could be something in his bath like the soap or the epsom salts. It could also be from his diapers..(did you change brands or if cloth diapers, did you change laundry soaps?) > > Our son, 23 months old, has had a bad rash on his belly and lower back for quite some time but for the past two days it's been a little worse and he even has some near his groin area. Guest guest
Wow ! Thx for the great info.! He was dx previously with Eczema but they only sent him cortizone and it helped for a short amount of time. I'm awaiting his order of Nordic Naturals Pro EFA so God willing that will help him like it helped your son. I really do think it's the warm baths in Epsom Salts that might be doing it so I'm going to stop them for a while until I get the Pro EFA in the mail. Again, thank you so much for all your great information! > > > > Our son, 23 months old, has had a bad rash on his belly and lower back for quite some time but for the past two days it's been a little worse and he even has some near his groin area. Guest guest
My son has a rash right now on his back. I took him to the doctor and they said it was Pityriasis Rosea which is usually comes out after having a viral illness. They suggested hydrocortizone, aquafor and direct sunshine for at least 15 minutes/day. Just my 2 cents since we happen to have a rash right now. Guest guest
My son had terrible, chronic eczema about 3 years ago. It vanished within 4 days of starting epsom salt baths. How ironic is that? Eczema is often dietary, but can be triggered by an endless list of possible irritants. I suspect there are chemicals in the water itself causing harm to our children. Our pharmacist mentioned her son's eczema is aggravated by plain bath water, which interested me since my sister was always blotchy following a shower, and developed severe eczema later in life which was directly triggered by tap water. She needs to wear cotton-lined rubber gloves to immerse her hands in water for any reason, or her fingernails will fall off from the severity of the skin reaction. When she swims at the beach - no reaction. I believe a heavy duty water filtration system might help some such cases. While trying to find the cause of my son's new outbreak, I recently learned eczema can be bacterial or viral as well. There is the added possibility that it is a " metals " rash. Perhaps the epsom salt baths are helping detox metals... It's a head-scratcher, trying to find the cause. Doctors are little help... Currently, we are keeping the skin moisturized and treating the itching with jewelweed spray (a natural antipruritic), while we search for the underlying cause. .. > > > > > > Our son, 23 months old, has had a bad rash on his belly and lower back for quite some time but for the past two days it's been a little worse and he even has some near his groin area. That is possible, or, epsom salts can be drying to the skin, so it might be that also. > Supplement wise, the only new thing we've been giving him is the 500 mcg of Mb12. Try increasing the folic and B2, see if that helps. > I feel very bad for him and just want to see his soft baby skin again:/ Try folic first. When I gave my kids enough folic acid, their skin was as soft as an infant. Dana
Guest guest
Hi, try using Boudreaux’s Butte Paste, rub in really well each day , until the rash disappears. This really works for us, it can be found in the diaper rash isle.. If this doesn’t work , try using Calamine lotion or Tea Tree Oil ointment. I hope things get better for your child. Look at all possibilities, detergent, fragrances any food that is different, even the clothing he is wearing.. anything could be irritating his skin.. good luck and take care..
