Guest guest
We have had the same problem with all forms of folic acid, including folinic acid, even though my son does well on other methylation enhancers. I would stop using it. Steve > > My son's new DAN just prescribed 200mcg of folinic acid in addition to his mb12 > which he has been on for 2 months. Guest guest
Our son had a similar reaction. Our dan at the time said that about 30 percent of his patients had this issue and that we should discontinue and just use folic acid. Guest guest
We just added folinic acid this week and my son has been a terror at home. OK at school, but very easily frustrated and very emotional at home. Guess I'll switch to folic acid and see if that helps. Thanks Karla > > My son's new DAN just prescribed 200mcg of folinic acid in addition to his > > mb12 > > which he has been on for 2 months. I would try increasing the yeast protocol, and if that didn't help, maybe carnitine [folic acid at my house required carnitine for proper absorption, and tended to increase yeast]. Otherwise, drop the folic for now. Dana
Guest guest
Try methylfolate (5-MTHF). My son couldn't tolerate folinic acid or folic acid, but does very well on methylfolate. I purchase it from Thorne Research. Jeannine
Guest guest
Both folic acid and folinic were disasters here. The 5-methyl form of folate has been ok. We were unable to use any MB12 until we had a few weeks of the 5-methyl folate on board. We also use the Thorne product. > > My son's new DAN just prescribed 200mcg of folinic acid in addition to his mb12 > which he has been on for 2 months.
