Guest guest
On a side note: What chocolate do you use if you are dairy free? We are having an issue with this here in my house. Guest guest
We have gotten those and my family eats them, but they are pricey here. So, I am looking for alternatives. My hubbie is a choc-aholic. My kids inherited it. > > > > > > > > > I am a regular reader but never posted anything ! > > > > > > I got my son (autistic 4.5 year old boy ) DDI hair element result but > > > unable to interpret the result. Guest guest
we use gluten/diary free chocolate available in the free form section of UK supermarkets.
Guest guest
Dark chocolate is often dairy free. You still have to read labels, but the higher the cocoa content the less likely it will contain any dairy. Soy is another story, though. Enjoy life makes awesome nut, dairy, soy free semi-sweet chocolate chips. Guest guest
If you have an ALDI store, someone told me they sell single origin dark chocolate bars that are really good (Equador). I don't know the ingredient list, but it is worth a stop in there if you have one. Guest guest
Hello Roy This test meets the counting rules for mercury with 4 elements in the red along with mild to moderate adrenal stress with possibly not enough adrenaline being made. The potassium to Calcium ratio is a little out of range which may suggest thyroid problems or copper excess, obviously copper excess is more likely with regards to this test. Giving Zinc, Molybdenum and milk thistle should help to reduce Copper and maybe some Taurine. The Ca/Mg may suggest some problems with blood sugar regulation as it is slightly out of range. This test also suggests that supplementing b6 might be a good idea. The prority IMO would be AC protocol chelation for mercury along with supporting supps. I might be wrong but I think that Andy has said and I quote " Chocolate is a big problem for a lot of these kids. Note that it is actually one of the dietary restrictions that did well on the ARI survey. " All the best Kenny > > > I am a regular reader but never posted anything ! > > I got my son (autistic 4.5 year old boy ) DDI hair element result but > unable to interpret the result. Guest guest
Could some one kindly give a comment on the result posted in file section - 'HairTests' folder '_Cherian_HairElementResult.pdf '. It is not strictly meeting any counting rules except 'Step 2' mentioned in http://home.earthlink.net/~moriam/HOW_TO_hair_test.html Three essential elements are very elevated (Calcium, Copper, Strontium) but Chromium is on the borderline(just about touching the very low line). Any comment on this will be greatly appreciated ? Guest guest
Thanks a lot Kenny. Just saw your reply while typing another message seeking help. We did a urinary porphyrin test a few months back and it showed Mercury toxicity. Do I have to wait for copper level to go low or start AC chelation with DMSA straightaway ? Guest guest
Hello Roy Providing that supporting supps are in place chelation can begin as soon as you are ready assuming that there are no ongoing sources such as metal fillings. ALA can cause some retention of copper but I'm pretty sure that Andy has said it would still be wise or words to this effect to chelate mercury with ALA. Chelating with DMSA should not affect copper, so in short chelation is recommended when you feel that you are ready, but taking steps to reduce copper at the same time may well help. Guest guest
We have to worry about dairy more than soy here. 8( Anyone have a tried and true chocolate fudge recipe that is dairy free? > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > I am a regular reader but never posted anything ! > > > > > > > > > > I got my son (autistic 4.5 year old boy ) DDI hair element result but > > > > > unable to interpret the result. Guest guest
Dairy Free Fudge 6 tablespoons CF margarine 3 1/2 cups powdered (confectioners) sugar 1/2 cup cocoa 1 tsp vanilla extract 1/4 cup CF milk 1 cup chopped nuts (optional) Lightly grease a 5x9 inch loaf pan using a little of the vegan margarine. Place the remaining margarine, sugar, cocoa, vanilla and milk in a heatproof mixing bowl or the upper part of a double boiler. Place the bowl or boiler over simmering water and stir until smooth. Add the nuts if desired. Pour the mixture quickly into the prepared pan. Chill thoroughly and cut into squares. Makes 2 to 3 dozen squares.
