Dear and All!

My son is low in Lysine, but is fine in Arginine. Is it OK to give Lysine

without Arginine. Or, can I just start Lysine (I already have it) and

add Arginine later?

Thanks!

San

What are the signs of being low arginine or lysine? How can these supplements

help if they are needed?

It is tested by Amino Acid test.

Lysine can help to fight herpes virus.

We have given Lysine without Arginine here with no ill-effect. The cold sores,

sickness immediately went away with the Lysine. I haven't used it for a

prolonged period of time though (in any type of protocol).

I used lysine to eliminate herpes virus. I gave high doses for about 8 months.

At the end I gave 2 doses of arginine, and we were done.

I tried giving both Arginine by itself and Lysine by itself and neither worked

well. Going back to an old test I saw that both were deficient.

Giving both together in the ration Arg:Lys 2:1 is now working well for my boy.

Adding a much higher dose of Ca Citrate and 1/2 BPlex at the same time also

helped a lot. I think Oxalates are related here. Deb

Hi Deb,

How did you realise that Arginine and Lyzine require higher CaCit? BPlex - what

is it?

Thanks  so much,

San

in feb 2010, my dd had a genova diagnostics test-nutreval/comprehensive

evaluation. it provided a vitamin/mineral rec with 0 arginine and 700 mg lysine

(among many others). i have wondered about the ratio and assumed her arginine

levels were normal/high. my daughter has a history of recurrent and long-lasting

respiratory infections and recurrent fevers/canker sores (which we thought might

be herpes) (as well as apraxia, asthma, add, hearing loss). for about 9 months,

we have been doing 250 mg lysine 3x day. for the first 4 months, the canker

sores were gone, but when cold flu season began, they returned when she had a

cold.

i am not sure what her current levels of lysine/arginine would be... we have

been doing biomed and ac chelation and don't want to overdo the lysine. i took

her off this week to see what would happen... i would appreciate any advice...

shall we increase the lysine?

thanks.
