I am not involved in the MLM here (or any for that matter), but why is it that

everyone feels they have to warn and be warned about a legitimate company who

chooses to sell their products in this way? They aren't stealing from anyone.

There is legitimate science and studies (all independent) behind this product.

I would just like to recommend that you open your mind and consider this a

possible opportunity, before shutting it down based on how they choose to sell

it. Does your doctor or naturopath make money off of you? Do you go to work

and make money doing something for others?

I am the biggest skeptic out there, I've done my research on this product AND I

have seen unbelievable changes in myself after only three days of taking it.

The results are REAL. Again, I have NOTHING to do with this company, but I must

say that those getting involved are the smart ones, because this product is

doing what it says it's doing.

Haven, I know from your many well written posts that you are a smart woman. Let

ME just play devil's advocate here...what about the possibility that something

new could do the same thing? Just a thought. Not opening our minds didn't get

us here in the first place, it was trust in something different, against the

grain. And the ingredients aren't new, they are just a new combination, with

research and studies to back it up.

I personally can't touch ALA yet, I still have fillings (not for long), but I

wanted to try this product as I go through the process of my dental revision,

hoping it might help with less damage. All I can say is that this stuff has

done something to me, because for the FIRST time in ages, I had incredible

energy today, after only THREE days on it. Even my husband noticed, he said I

even looked better then ever...and I felt it! There are literally only a

handful of natural safe ingredients in it, it's the combination of them that

encourages the healing. You should take a look at the science. If we never

give new things a chance, how will we get beyond today?

Thank you for sharing Mandi, the studies are real, the people are real and the

results are REAL! I am no fool, I don't trust just anyone or anything, but this

stuff is truly amazing. Is it for everyone, maybe not, but I found it to be

worth sharing here. I thank you for your input.

I'm amazed at my third day taking it already! I saw the news reporter's test

results before and after taking it for just two weeks! And a handful of other

people who have had the very same results. There has not been even ONE person

who hasn't had the same reduction in oxidative stress, not one to report of.

My only question would be, does it stay down or does one require constant

supplementation? Do you know if this ASD grandma has kept the good results or

is still taking it? I assume chelation will be our ultimate " cleanse " , but in

the meantime, this might help with the damage done during redistribution, etc!

Certainly can't hurt, since most of us are taking similar, if not the same

ingredients already, just not in the precise combination as here in this

product.

I bought mine at the link below, which also has a lot of information about it.

I found something else interesting about taking this product that I thought I

would share. For about two weeks I have been taking iodine for a sluggish

thyroid (Lugol's) and I am working on getting up to 16 drops, but it seemed like

every time I tried to get past 4-5 drops, I was having severe side effects, like

frontal headaches and pain in my eyes. I know that there are supportive ways to

deal with this like salt loading and using selenium and high doses of Vitamin C

(antioxidant, hint hint), which did help some, but not entirely. Since starting

the Protandim, I have been able to slowly increase the iodine without those side

effects. I am afraid to go too fast, but in two days, I have gone up to 8 drops

without a problem.

Anyway, I figured that us parents can give this product a try initially and

determine, if it might be worth trying with our kids. I still don't know how I

feel about the ingredients being high oxalate. My kids are on a LOD and there

is both milk thistle and turmeric in it. I might use a pill cutter (they are

big tablets unfortunately) and break it down to like 1/4-1/8th of a pill and put

those pieces into an empty capsule for them to swallow. But only AFTER I use it

for the first month.

This is a good product, nothing wrong with it. You could for the price, buy a

ton of the exact ingredients in this product and have the same benefits.

It's a convenience to have them all in one product, but nothing special about

the I gradients which you can buy anywhere.

And it's not new. Has been around for awhile, most don't buy it as it's so

pricey. $50 for one bottle is steep.

We are using Protandim (both for us and for our 8 year old son who is Autistic.

We are happy to share our experiences with you, just call or email and we can

talk. We are involved in the buisness side of it, mostly to help offset our

cost for the product and because we knew we would be talking about the product

Just one comment about the ingredients. There are many different versions of

these ingredients, and Dr. McCord and his team tried different varieties and

different ratios (80+ different combinations) before landing on the ratio that

had the best results. They found with some combinations, too much of one or

another ingredient produced lesser results, or even negative results for

increasing SOD, Glutathione, catalayse, etc. So even though we could (and did)

buy some of the ingredients seperate, it is not that easy to recreate the

results.

Wow, I definitely wouldn't consider myself a " salesmonster " ! I said to contact

me offline because I thought we weren't supposed to sell things on-list. Like

I said, our family has been taking Protandim since this summer (my son since

fall). My husband is a distributer, with mostly family buying from us. We

really just did that to offset the cost and it has. I was spending about

$100/month on glutathione alone for my son. He is no longer on glutathione and

his levels are about the same. We are still chelating using AC protocol, still

will. Still on a bunch of other supplements and gfcfsf. Pros for hubby-no

more knee pain, from a childhood injury. Pros for me-decrease in low back pain

from injury and decrease in psoriasis, more energy...we've also managed to stay

well this season. Jury's still out on son ( has gone from a moderate/severe

diagnosis to Aspergers over the years-not that it matters, with help from this

group). Still has issues. My husband's buddy that got us started was able to

go off his bp meds and no more psoriasis (that's what sold me!). Worth a try in

my book. At risk of being a salesmonster, you still can contact me offline if

about other kids with autism taking it. Oh, and I just looked-the mgs for each

It was probably a couple of months. I DO still have psoriasis. I was using

fluocinide every day. Now I use it about once a week. My husband's friend's

psoriasis has cleared almost all the way, but he is using a cream that the

company sells as well as taking protandim. I think he credits that as much.

Since I just have psoriasis on my scalp, the cream would not work for me. I gave

some of the cream to a friend's mom a month ago for psoriasis on her arms and

legs. She has noticed a decrease in her patches. If you are interested, I can

give you our friend's email. Again-I would not have solicited the group.

Someone else mentioned it and I thought I would share our experience. I was

looking for information on the listserves this summer when we first learned of

the product and couldn't find any, so I thought I would chime in.

I use borax as shampoo, and only use a little coconut oil mixed in as

conditioner, and I havent had the psoriasis on my scalp since. It did take about

6 months to get rid of all the 'build up' of crap on there though( I call that

the akward stage). I have been doing this for almost 4 years, and I have mid

back length hair.

I used to have to wash 2x a day or flakes would be noticable.\

Hope this helps, it is an awful feeling!

I think the protandim may be helping my general inflammation-that may be why my

psoriasis is less itchy, smaller or shallower scales-gross! The best thing I've

tried was a salicyclic acid/fluocininide solution prescribed by the derm. As

far as shampoos go, I've used Nizoral and Head & Shoulders Intensive Care on

alternating days. I've had psoriasis on my scalp and ears since puberty. I

only get it on my body when I have a skin injury-really bad scrape, burn or the

worst, poison ivy! It goes away in a few days with this goop my derm

prescribed. I just hate to think of all the chemicals my skin has absorbed over

the years. I have not tried eliminating casein or gluten from my own diet yet!

I'm finally trying to get my own health in order after neglecting it for the

past several years of working on my son! Amalgams came out last week,

supplements have been started, dietary changes are next. I've also heard

nightshades (eggplant, tomato, potato) can aggravate psoriasis. I wouldn't be

surprised-I looooove all of those! I wonder how many of us moms have psoriasis?

Amie, are you considering chelation since having your amalgams removed? You can

start with DMSA only until three months after the fillings were removed, then

you can add in ALA.

I just had my full dental revision done yesterday and will be joining my sons in

Definitely! I have to get my health back (I say as I'm sipping the new parasite

If your son's malabsorption and reflux issues are from parasites and gut bugs,

DE could help.

DE is more of a long term maintenance. It is primarily a binder, so think of it

sort of as charcoal that also absorbs parasites in the gut. It is not poison to

parasites, which would be needed at some point to fully eradicate parasites.

Just like all of our other bugs, they don't just live in the digestive tract.

The DE is a good introduction to killing parasites in the digestive tract and a

good maintenance program. The best part about it is that it is not toxic like

other parasite meds/herbs and it does not cause die off symptoms. It is very

safe and can be used even during pregnancy and fed to pets.

After finding worms in my son's stool, we are using DE as part of a bigger

parasite program that includes herbs and rx medicines. DE is probably the

componenet that we will use regularly on an ongoing basis. But it is a very

good starting point.

Well I just keep a jar in my shower and wet my hair and use maybe a teaspoon

amount and scrub on my scalp, sometimes more if I left my hair too long before

washing. I just rinse it through the ends of my hair, if my hair is dry, I put

avocado or coconut oil on the ends only before washing with the borax.

It takes a bit to get used too, as it is a far cry from shampoo, but I couldnt

use shampoo again it feels weird now.

Side note here, my friend swears by putting her head underwater and scrubbing

when she is having a epsom salt bath that it has helped her scalp psoriasis

issue. Warning wash out before bed because my hair was crazy when I woke up. I

tried this after my borax so I really cant say it worked because my scalp was

ok. But I cant see why detoxing your scalp would hurt!
