He is speech delayed but does have some speech and is able make most of his needs known by using 2-4 words and can sometimes use sentences. His main issues are lack of focus, hyperactivity , some aggressive behavior, poor social interaction and speech delay. >> I've been doing biomed intervention for a while as well as ST/OT/ and behavioral therapy. I just started chelating with ALA only using the AC protocol and we start round 3 this weekend. >> I have been going to this ABA therapist now for less than a year. He has over 20 years experience with kids on the spectrum and appears to know what he is doing. >> Well, he thinks my son is not making progress fast enough and is strongly recommending traditional medicines. At first, I agreed to try something for ADHD and we did the patch which made him terribly aggressive. Now he is recommending an SSRI. He says that it doesn't help all kids on the spectrum but for those it does it is like night and day so he believes that, particularly in kids that are not progressing fast enough it is worth a try to see if it works and if it doesn't, then you just cross it off your list and move on. He would not recommend staying on it if there was not marked improvement. He was actually very quick to tell me to stop the patch once we noticed the increase in aggressiveness. I have not discussed my biomedical involvement with him as he is pretty mainstream. >> I'd like to give chelation a chance and I worry what mixing these 2 things will do. When I did his tests, he did come back high for a lot of metals and I'm hoping that this will help. >> I do however understand his frustration as when my son first regressed at 18 months the changes were so subtle but as he is growing, the changes appear to be more glaring. >> What do you guys think? I guess I'm looking for encouragement and advice and perhaps your experiences as I navigate this path. >> Thanks alot. >> >> >> Blessings >> Aly >> Sent from my iPhone
