Guest guest
Our son, who seems to have just come down with something and/or had a bad reaction to sulfur food, and/or phenol food, and/or DMSA, has what I *think* look like utterly normal hair results. As far as I can tell (caveat: my arithmetic is *not* reliable these days), he meets none of the five counting rules. Of the five ranges reported, Na/K is on the low side of normal and Zn/Cu is on the high side of normal; is either of these significant? I uploaded the scanned file to the HairTests directory as " 3y10mo vegan boy.jpg " . Have I missed anything? Thank you, P.S. We have decided to abort the round due to whatever is going on with him, as he seems suddenly very unwell with fever. We gave about 2.1mg DMSA every two hours starting yesterday at 2:00PM, and every four hours at night starting at 8:00PM (resuming every two hours at 8:00AM), with a slightly botched administration at 12:00AM this morning (perhaps a half or two-thirds the dose because of that) but otherwise nothing unusual about the administration. Actually the administration is VERY unusual. You cannot vary the time between doses like that as it will cause redistribution. Please pick a time (every 4 hours is fine) and stick with it throughout 3 days and nights. What supplements is he on? The hair test does not indicate deranged mineral transport. There seem to be adrenal issues with Ca and Mg up and Na and K down. This indicates underproduction of adrenaline (lowish Na/Mg confirms this) and cortisol. Na/K below 0.5 would indicate high thyroid. >
Guest guest
, thank you very much for your message. I wish I'd received it two days ago...! Well... > > P.S. Damn it! :( I cannot believe I did this. I was attempting to avoid redistribution/regression by doing very small, very frequent doses during the day. It seems I know just enough to be dangerous. Good God. I am shaking with worry for son and rage at self. I think I am probably the one responsible for mercury-poisoning my child in the first place. I took chlorella in pregnancy, if you can believe someone would do such an idiotic thing, because I was trying to remove any thimerosal that my fetus (now son) might be getting due to an ill-advised mercury-containing flu shot that I accepted when said fetus was 13 weeks old in my belly. Now has a spectrum disorder, and, joy of joys, probably a new poisoning thanks to me. > Please pick a time (every 4 hours is fine) and stick with it throughout 3 days and nights. Will do in future. I read somewhere on this group someone recommending a more-frequent-during-the-day administration, saying it was easier on their family. (?!) That is where I got the idea that it would be okay to do every four hours at night. > What supplements is he on? + Digestive enzymes (Zand QuickDigest, 1 or more tablets before meals and on demand) + Probiotics (Bio-K+ [50B organisms] and acidophilus tablets [1B organisms] on demand) + Methylcobalamin B-12 (usually 3mg, spread throughout day) + Omega-3s (V-Pure 350mg EPA/50mg DHA in smoothies [derived from algae], in addition to ground flax seed and chia seed that he has always liked on cereal) + Vitamins A, C, and E (Juice Plus Chewables, 4 red and 4 green, equivalent of 144%, 114% and 92% of the daily adult recommended amounts, respectively) + Glycine (500mg in nightly licorice/chamomile tea) + Hepata-Chord (half dropper, twice daily) + Taurine (500mg in nightly licorice/chamomile tea) He didn't get the glycine or taurine tonight because he passed out before I could give him the tea. I assume we should give him at least four days of a break before attempting another chelation round on a regular every-four-hours schedule, yes? What does redistribution/regression look like? Oh, my God, I cannot believe I am asking this question... > There seem to be adrenal issues with Ca and Mg up and Na and K down. I have to stop typing now. Thank you,

We're talking about _one_ instance of redistribution, here. > > > Please pick a time (every 4 hours is fine) and stick with it throughout 3 days and nights. > > Will do in future. I read somewhere on this group someone recommending a more-frequent-during-the-day administration, saying it was easier on their family. (?!) That was probably for ALA, where the required interval is 3 hours. Andy says it's OK for _some_ to go to 4 hours at night (others don't tolerate it). Going from 2 to 4 is just too much... But again, you only introduced one extra redistribution cycle. Don't worry--just concentrate on doing it right in the future! > That is where I got the idea that it would be okay to do every four hours at night. > > > What supplements is he on? > > + Digestive enzymes (Zand QuickDigest, 1 or more tablets before meals and on demand) > + Probiotics (Bio-K+ [50B organisms] and acidophilus tablets [1B organisms] on demand) > + Methylcobalamin B-12 (usually 3mg, spread throughout day) > + Omega-3s (V-Pure 350mg EPA/50mg DHA in smoothies [derived from algae], in addition to ground flax seed and chia seed that he has always liked on cereal) > + Vitamins A, C, and E (Juice Plus Chewables, 4 red and 4 green, equivalent of 144%, 114% and 92% of the daily adult recommended amounts, respectively) With chelation he should get a lot more C, E, and extra magnesium and zinc, or it's going to be miserable. > + Glycine (500mg in nightly licorice/chamomile tea) > + Hepata-Chord (half dropper, twice daily) > + Taurine (500mg in nightly licorice/chamomile tea) > > He didn't get the glycine or taurine tonight because he passed out before I could give him the tea. > > I assume we should give him at least four days of a break before attempting another chelation round on a regular every-four-hours schedule, yes? If you stop a round, start the next one at the next scheduled time. So if you were going to do 3 days on/4 days off, wait a week.... > > What does redistribution/regression look like? Oh, my God, I cannot believe I am asking this question... Redistribution is _not_ regression! It actually happens every time you finish a chelation round and is what causes post-round symptoms. So the symptoms might be twice as bad here. It's the ongoing, repeated redistribution due to continuously chelating improperly that causes harm. Please give yourself a pass on this one. > > > There seem to be adrenal issues with Ca and Mg up and Na and K down. Guest guest
, Thank you very much for your reassuring message! I'm very glad to have received it. I will be able to sleep, now. I will share it with my husband, too. We just had a terrifying half hour where our son, feverish, started to hallucinate, having both visual and auditory disturbances, screaming over and over that he wanted to " go outside " (it's the middle of the night) and didn't want to " make that noise. " Of course his rantings woke his little sister who started crying too. My husband had the presence of mind to put son in the shower to cool him down and sing to him. Now they're watching airplane videos and chatting and son seems himself. I am much relieved. From now on, DMSA will go every 4 hours on the dot for three days, then four days off. We started Thursday so we'll start the next round this coming Thursday. I hope son won't protest. Will cross that bridge when we get there... Thanks again,
Guest guest
Okay, BREATHE! Most of us who have done the Cutler protocol do 3 hours during the day and 4 hours at night WHEN THE ALA IS ADDED IN. Otherwise we do every four hours round the clock when it is just the DMSA. The reason for the change is that ALA has a shorter half-life and needs to be administered more frequently, BUT a slower metabolism at night allows for a little longer time (and more sleep!)
