Re: Can DMSA induce seizure activity?

My daughter started having seizures after DMPS (not DMSA). I'm wondering if you

are moving too much too fast. Have you tried reducing the dose you are taking?

Are you taking minerals on an empty stomach? That can have side effects

sometimes.

We deal w seizures but have not seen them as a result of chelation. Do you think

your dose is a bit high? You mention 'remineralization' We stay on the same

supplements during and off round. Hope you're feeling better,

Misty, what minerals do you drink (brand included) and is this a new supplement

for you since starting chelation?

Also, no seizure expert, but that does not sound like a seizure. I just googled

hypoglycemia, and many of the symptoms fit moderate hypoglycemia.

Any chance you can go by a glucose meter? Any drug store will carry them. I

think monitoring your blood sugar more closely might offer some clues.

Several years back I was at a DAN! conference where a chemist set up shop for a

chelator at one of the merchant booths. She said DMSA can cause seizures. I

*think* her child had a seizure on DMSA and she had some chemical explanation of

why it put her child at risk (DAN! protocol uses high doses and infrequent

dosing; not good). I listened, but obviously did not retain the info. I do

remember a discussion after I came back and most of what she said was refuted or

in the least put in to the " this is a very very rare complication " category.

What I have read ALWAYS says DMSA induced seizures with " high dose and extended

use " . Certainly not what is advocated here.

have you addressed a possible adrenal weakness? (may also cause

" lightheadedness " from insufficient vascular tone to deliver the blood to

the brain; insufficient oxygen then could cause brain malfunction)

Yes, i reduced it greatly. i realize the importance of that.

Actually yesterday i did take minerals on a fairly empty tummy...

and it wasnt too much later it happened.

i dont think i had a seizure, i think i just came real close to it.

thank you,

Misty
