Guest guest
I'm really concerned about my 7-yr old NT son, whom I've posted about before. He has had several symptoms daily for weeks now and I could really use some help with ideas on what could be going on with him. For starters, he has an oil slick in his urine and this has been going on for months. Things improve with ox bile and digestive enzymes but doesn't go away entirely. For a few weeks now, he feels unwell systematically within 30-45 minutes of eating. He says that he feels hot in his head and chest, has a headache, a tummy ache, sometimes sore legs too. On a few occasions, he seemed like he was going to pass out, he got really weak and couldn't walk. Sometimes, it looks like there is mucous in his stool (but not always). He is also weak muscularly, gets tired easily and is emotionally reactive. He has adrenal issues too. Any ideas on what can cause all of these symptoms, in particular the ill feeling after eating? It's got me quite worried now. He takes supplements before meals at home, which seem to help including HCL, some Houstons' enzymes (Trienza), ox bile and Vit C, E, mag and milk thistle. I've noticed that his symptoms seems worse after eating a meal with meat or dairy, especially cheese. He had a meal of pizza and ice cream a couple of weeks ago and he felt so bad afterwards that he could barely walk. My husband had to carry him and when he couldn't carry him anymore, we put him in our 3-yr old's stroller! I saw a doctor yesterday to insist for tests but he said that he couldn't connect all the symptoms and that some were likely " psychological " ! (What the heck?) He prescribed urine test, stool test, blood test and an h. pylori test and an abdominal & rectal ultrasound. I guess these tests are standard to start looking and the Dr said that if they turn up nothing, then next is some digestive exploration which sounds pretty unpleasant. DS has been taking HCL for a few weeks without any complaints then he started complaining after taking it. I reduced the amount of HCL and now wonder if these supplements have messed with his natural production of stomach acid. Does anyone have a view on this? I've never read any precautions about this with HCL. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
Guest guest
If h-pylori is a suspect, I would give him mastic gum - it comes in capsules and is the only supp that kills h pylor. I get mine at iherb.com Lin
