Guest guest
If you're talking about PCA-rx, I don't think you'll find the answer here as it's not the focus of this board. It caused my son's PANDAS to flare as there's strep thermophilus in it. I felt there was limited product info (sort of like zeolite) and no real protocol on how to use it despite it containing ALA. So even if they say it " clathrates " there is still chelator there. If you are experimenting you might want to dose every 3 hours. But if you are doing that, why not just use ALA? Guest guest
Ronni- The PCA-Rx was recommended by our doctors. 5+ years later, I have absolutely no negatives to say and I know they are working on better information on the website. It would be nice if they had concrete directions, but that's the FDA regulations. This is my best generic explanation. I hope it helps. Chelation: makes several chemical ionic bonds to make metals less chemically reactive and water-soluble. These metals can be free-ranging and redeposit. PCA: glycoproteins and peptides create a three-fold bond (ionic, covalent and hydrogen) to toxic molecules and prevent toxins from going back into tissues or organs as it leaves (85% by feces). These do not become free-ranging. http://www.maxamlabs.com/shopexd.asp?id=59 I don't know why it is a heated debate. It is all about the kids and what works to heal them. I have found that many (not all) people who are upset about it are often misinformed, took it and didn't follow up with the office, or bought from Awaken Nutrition or another 'distributor' who was selling water or acid or God knows what else. Guest guest
We do chelate with ALA...and DMSA...but the yeast is so terrible that I was hoping for doesn't cause such a yeast flare. I just didn't want to start an issue...just to understand. > > > > I have been reading some of the posts about this and would like to understand. > > > > I am not wanting to be blasted or lectured...I would like to understand if this is really helpful.
