Guest guest
The follow-up to Mold Warriors came out February, 2011. It is full of testing, remediation, and treatment for people and buildings. The book is available at http://www.survivingmold.com I just finished reading it and I feel like I know what to do about the mold... and that I was right about it being an issue in why my whole family is sick! > > It has been raining hard a lot in my area....and we have a BIG problem!!! Black mold!!! We contacted the insurance agent and it is covered....but it may take a bit of time. I am really concerned as everyone's yeast is really flared and two of us are experiencing terrible muscle issues. > > I wish it were possible to leave til this issue is resolved....but it is not..is there anything besides yeast protocol that I can do to help us... Our nystatin has not arrived...so that is making things worse...and I am on stress overload!! > > I just don't know what to do...besides prayer...doing lots of that..but this is really getting to me!! > > TIA > Ronni >
Guest guest
Take oil of oregano. It treats mold/fungus. Contain the problem as much as you can. Close the door to the most impacted area and don't go back there if possible. And/or put a strip of copper across the threshold. Or cover the molded surfaces with copper sheeting. Throw out anything you can throw out that you don't care about documenting for insurance purposes. If it is at all possible to document it and get rid of it quickly so you can get the insurance coverage and also be rid of it, bonus! (People always tell me " I can't afford to *replace*...x,y,z. " Um, I said nothing about replacing anything. Throwing things out is cheap and things don't necessarily need to be replaced. Getting rid of it is better than hanging on to it and being sick.) Good luck with this. Michele http://www.healthgazelle.com http://www.kidslikemine.com > > It has been raining hard a lot in my area....and we have a BIG problem!!! Black mold!!! Guest guest
rent an ozone generator machine off the internet (some dry cleaners rent them out too, as do fire cleanup people). It's like 80-100 dollars. You set it running, leave the house for a certain time, make sure plants and animals are out, and then when it's done, wait a certain time and then open doors and windows. There are a bunch of sites that rent them out. > > It has been raining hard a lot in my area....and we have a BIG problem!!! Black mold!!! Guest guest
On the islands, dehumidifiers are used to keep things dry. There are the small appliance-sized electrical machines or cannisters of desiccant you can find at hardware stores, Walmart or Target or Sears that people use in their closets to hinder mold growth. I am not sure how effective the dehumidifier canisters will be, depending on how much of your home is affected.
