Some Kefir starters do have S.thermophilus , but according to the BED website,

their starter doesnt list it as an ingredient. Kefir is pretty potent, so you

might be seeing die-off from yeast or bacteria.

My son who is so incredibly sensitive to strep strains, does great with

kefir....both water grain and milk. The die off can be pretty ugly..I wonder

if giving charcoal an hour afterward or cutting back the amount would help.

When we first added coconut to our kefirs...we add coconut juice to water and

coconut milk to milk types...we did get a lot of viral die off...so you could be

seeing either die off...yeast or viral. We went thru a few tough weeks getting

them where they could tolerate it...now they have 3 16 oz glasses a day.
