Guest guest
Dear Group, I am planning pregnance currently. Lately, I've been taking Magnesium Citrate in high doses due to depleted magnesium symptoms. After about a month I felt some discomfort in my kidneys. I remember Andy wrote in his book that citrate forms of minerals can serve as very mild chelators. I am worried whether my discomfort feeling can be due to the fact that MgCitrate started chelating througth my kidneys. In this case, I suppose, I should be not planning pregnancy, as the growing tissue will absorb all the toxins coming out, and the baby will absorb chelated metals. What do you think, what is the risk? It is so important for me, as I just realised it, and I am in panic. I would really appreciate if Dr. Cutler could reply. Thanks in advance. . Guest guest
I think you might need to recheck Dr. Cutlers book. I've read it probably 30 times and don't recall him saying magnesium is a mild chelator. As far as I know it does not chelate anything. Or I'd be cured by now, so would my kids. Magnesium is generally excreted in stool, thus the reason is causes diahrrea if you take too much. So the kidney pain..who knows. if you're terribly concerned I would lower the dose of magnesium. And I'd be more concerned if I had a toxic hair test, wasn't eating right, etc in terms of conception and how toxic my body might be. Guest guest
Thanks for the answer, Jan! I remember the book saying that citrate forms are very mild agents but I will recheck it once again.
