Guest guest
I think all parents that take a proactive view on a child's condition have severe stress, mother or father. Unfortunately, society views moms as the ones that fight and the dads checkout, but in truth I've met many father's that took on the advocate role more so than the mother! I'm a single mom and put to tears whenever I see father's taking steps to be involved with any child, but even more so a child with a disability. It's a vicious cycle that needs to be dealt with by our society. I was raised without a male role model and my daughter will now experience the same. It's sad, but father's have been stigmatized with being absent, due to their predecessors! I was just back in court for our support order and my comment to my ex was if I checked out like him CPS would be banging down my door and the cops arresting me for neglect! I find it criminal for any parent to abandon their child physically or emotionally and I think the laws should support such. It should not be a choice to be a parent, but a requirement if you choose to conceive the child and remain their legal parent!
Guest guest
I am blessed that my husband is like a mother hen to our boys. It really should be a team effort...I feel so bad for single parents and the children. -- [ ] Re: Autism Moms Have Stress I think all parents that take a proactive view on a child's condition have severe stress, mother or father.
