L-Carnitine and spitting

Thanks for those who suggested we add L Carnitine to our 5 y/o's protocol. She

had been spitting (blowing raspberries) for a couple weeks. Added the

L-Carnitine and it reduced almost immediately. Now after about 2 weeks it has

completely stopped.

Now my question is this -- how do you know when to stop a certain supplement?

That I can't say. My son has been on Acetyl-L-Carnitine since he was around

three or four years old. I've never seen a negative regarding it.

Now other supps I have ususally known as I see behaviors I don't want to

see, and if I am not sure of the culprit, I stop supps and add them back in

one at a time to see which one it is.

Recently, he was on GSE and biotin for yeast, but I kept seeing red cheeks

and ear even with the addition of No Fenol. I also saw a lot more stimming

and finger flicking and hyper activity. This got even worse when I gave him

a multi with B vitamins in it.

Well, I stopped the multi and B vitamins, stopped the biotin, stopped the

GSE. I introduced Pau d'Arco and Candex to fight yeast ( and I give

Culturelle at bedtime). Stimming has ceased by at least ninety percent. I

also upped his ACE as he was still having anxiety. so anxiety is reduced,

as well.

Generally if I see adverse behaviors such as stimming, I think either yeast

or a problem with a supplement, and other moms help to point me in the right

direction -- that is how I learned about the Pau d' Arco and Candex.

These changes in supplementation have made a big difference, but I still

give the carnitine once a day. I you were to see an increase in symptoms,

you would have to figure out by elimination and re-introducing to see which

one is the culprit.
