Guest guest
That much of an elevation might not mean anything. You should Google it and see. I know of people with muscle disease or heart attack where the CK levels were in the thousands (18,000-30,000). I believe this is excreted by the kidneys. Make sure you have him drinking enough fluids . Thyroid problems can also apparently lead to elevated CK. I don't know how high is high, though. Possibly your son had an infection/illness when the blood was drawn? Could also be simple mishandling of a blood sample. So many factors. Independent of other out of range values, I don't know if I would worry that much. If you wanted to do a repeat blood draw, that would be reasonable unless someone here has more information. If the number continues to go up then that starts pointing to things like muscle damage or injury. Again, typically that is quite an elevated number, not what you are showing. I hope that helps.
