Guest guest
Absolutely do ALA on the alternate rounds if your child can handle weekly chelation. ALA crosses the blood brain barrier and will remove mercury from the brain where DSMA cannot. It is a chelator standing on its own. I used TD-DMSA for over a year, and I feel it did little to nothing (Lee Silsby; in about 2004-5). I was very pleased with switching to oral DMSA. If you see little improvements, please consider the switch. One thing I found interesting about TD-DMSA vs oral DMSA: I *never* smelled sulfur in my son's urine when I used TD-DMSA. And I mean never. I used what my DAN! prescribed at the time (maybe 100ml? per application). I switched to oral DMSA, and on the first round the urine had a strong sulfur smell. I can't say this is true, but I wonder if TD-DMSA was every really absorbed in to his system. Take care, Pam > > of TD DMSA and oral ALA eon the AC schedule. Next DMSA round is to be in 2 weekends. Can I do ALA alone on the alternate weekends? Would this even help? I need ANY AND ALL advice!! 10 months of biomed and lots of gains but NO LINCHPIN....hoping that this will be it. > > Unofficially dx PDD-NOS, unvaccinated 4.5 yr son. >
