Guest guest
When I looked back on our problems and the schedule of chelation, I too saw big problems after long breaks. Maybe you saw my post awhile back warning people of this and suggesting they start their children on a lower dose after a longer break. We have been chelating about 2, 2 1/2 years? (lost track), and I can tell you that the most recent startup after a long break did not produce the bad reaction the other startups did. I can only imagine that as you go, giving round after round of chelation, your son's body gets used to eliminating metals and continues after you stop for a break. (this has been my experience, or at least the feeling I have personally when I have stopped - that my body keeps chelating itself to an extent). So anyway, i have to wonder if when you start back up, you stir up a bunch of metals that have resettled during the break? My guess is that it is the worst in the beginning and that the reactions lessen as you go. Even so, I would not take away the breaks - I firmly believe they are needed. I think in your case, your son needs a break. I would give him lots of epsom salt baths and smoothies containing: magnesium chloride, taurine, aloe, banana, ice and either pear juice or cranberry to heal his gut. I have BEEN THERE. I would drop the GSE, but others may tell you different. For the seizures, I would make sure he is off gluten in every form (even white vinegar) and take him off all excitotoxins (all forms of MSG, look them up online if you don't know them). When you start back up, I would start back up using ALA only or possibly seeing NP for prescription and advice on doing DMPS. DMSA is really hard on the gut and NP has told me do it only once per month on my son for lead. I'd love to get Andy's feedback on this, or 's regarding the bad reaction after taking breaks. Liz > > hello, > my 5 yr old son is lead and mercury toxic with seizures.his weight is 52 pds. i stopped chelation over the xmas season and even supplements. i resumed supplements over the new year.he was also alternating oil of oregano and grapefruit seed extract for yeast. for probiotic i was giving him a lot of sauerkraut. two days ago i started 6mg of DMSA 4hrly and his reaction was terrible! he had a fever of 101.5, he threw up and had severe diarrhea. the symptoms subsided after i stopped DMSA.(AFTER 4 DOSES)he also had seizures as well. this is two days after, he is lively and runnning around but still a bit dull and if i give any other food than applesauce he has diarrhoea.please can tell me where i went wrong and any ideas what i should do next. this was a very stressful weeekend. usually DMSA makes him hyperactive but never any thing like this. >
Guest guest
We have had lots of reports of a viral illness that includes; vomiting, fever and days (7-9) of diarrhea. Seems to be the type of flu going around this year. Rec the BRATT diet for a week. Bananas, rice, applesauce, toast. Fwiw, I put mine on Lauricidin this year, when school started and we have not had one cold, flu or sniffle. She really is fully chelated (no issues) so has a good immune system, but we will not be without Lauricidin in the winter. Re the break; some seem exquisitively sensitive to metals stirring up. That's the only way I can explain why these kid's do better when you take a break and have more difficulty starting up. Wondering if these are high cysteine kids. Starting up at a lower dose is wise.
