At my house, most sensory issues were related to yeast overgrowth.

Hi Joyce,

I was told/read that leaky gut is suspected when a child stims. Have you looked

at the ingredients or foods or drinks he is consuming before he stims, and then

see if taking it out of his diet has any affects on his stimming.

At our house, our son stims for long periods or demonstrates OCD behaviors when

given anything that has sugar, and possibly certain additives and artificial

dyes/flavorings in it. Although we've dramatically lessened the sweeteners in

foods, he still stims on occasion, e.g. when he gets excited or is learning

something new or another food we haven't detected yet, but less stimming from

sugar.

Have you tried activated charcoal for now? It could absorb some of the toxins

triggering the stimming.

I have a lot of hope that once our son starts chelation that he'll stim even

less and that through the chelation we can help heal the leaky gut.

HTH,

Sheila

As the others stated too, yeast was another thing to watch out for. You could

try a yeast protocol.

A leaky gut can also develop from a yeast problem. The sugar our son takes in

can very well be feeding yeast.

If not yeast, our DAN explained to me that if there is a food sensitivity or

allergen that our son is taking in on a regular basis, then that food will

weaken the gut, creating the 'leaks' and the toxins make it into the

bloodstream.

Could you please guide me to the best protocol for yeast control . I would like

to know what  are the best doses and what supplements I have to give to my 5

1/2 year old kid.

Thanks

It depends on the child. For my son, I used biotin and GSE. I started with low

doses and increased as required.

There is one protocol for each child. My son did best with biotin and GSE.

Those things had several causes at my house, one of which was yeast.
