Guest guest
I was told at one point...that cobalt was the same as b12. I understand that it is part of it...what I was wondering is if a person is consistently low on b12 would supplementing with cobalt change the issue? We are finding that the only B12 that works for us is injectable...and tho it isn't a problem to do....sometimes getting the script is an issue...so was wondering if taking liquid cobalt would work. Does stress deplete b12 the way it does other b's....is that besides the mercury issues the reason that it is so hard to get over it??? tia Ronni
Guest guest
My son's bloodwork shows elevated b12 and his hair test showed in the red elevated cobalt. What does that mean? Does his body have too much b12 or is it just not getting into the cells? He takes vit. b12 in a bcomplex but not an exhoritant amount. Guest guest
I believe that Andy's book states that if the lower half is squewed, then the minerals and such are irrelevant. I would suspect that the blood level might be that he is that he's getting enough folic and the rest of the B's so that he's not assimilating and using it correctly. maybe someone wiser will chime in here and give you more exact info. Guest guest
My understanding is that B12 is a vitamin. Cobalt is a metal. B12 injections are said to have cobalt in them and some parents report elevations in cobalt levels when kids have been on the B12 shots for a while. But if you buy B12 sublinguals or liquids etc there is not cobalt in them. I would not take liquid cobalt in place of B12 injections. Andy has said that you can use sublingual B12 and lots of it instead. Stress eats up B12 yes. As well as the other B's. > > I was told at one point...that cobalt was the same as b12. Guest guest
He has more than the average amount of b12 that most people have. That may or may not be enough for him. Guest guest
Andy,  Thanks for your reply. His bloodwork and hair test were totally puzzling to me. The bloodwork shows calcium in the normal range, but the hair test showed strontium to be almost nonexistent. He is iron deficient, vit. d deficient, and very low on ferritin. Do these tests indicated that he needs chelation even though there is no elevated heavy metals in the hair tests.  Drissia From: andrewhallcutler <AndyCutler@...> Subject: [ ] Re: Cobalt vs B12 Date: Saturday, April 16, 2011, 10:05 PM  He has more than the average amount of b12 that most people have. Guest guest
Andy,  One more thing. He is having a problem with the teeth demineralizing. Does that indicate there is also a problem with the bones?
