Guest guest
Hi Deb: Thank you for responding, how much Taurine did you give your son, my son is 11yo and weighs about 90lbs. Did Taurine create yeast and/or make him hyper? From reading other posts I'm also going to start Vit A and DHA/EPA fish oils. I just want to make sure these supplements don't create yeast because I'm everyone Mom knows that's when behaviors become worse. Have you ever tried L-Theanine? Thank for your help. Taurine is very calming. I give a healthy dose several times per day. Biotin is very calming and makes him happy instead of angry. This helps with yeast also. I give him a very healthy dose several times per day, but not later than dinner time because it will cuase him to lose sleep. He'll be happy, but awake all night if I give it too late. Chelating AC protocol is the best thing to eliminate the rage/aggression. It took 3 months to significantly reduce it. I recommend a low dose and do not increase the doseage. Guest guest
The only thing that concerns me about Taurine is that it increases stomach acid which my son gets acid reflux and I don't want to make it worse. I also read is that Biotin does create yeast, but I can't understand that because it's not a Vit B it's considered Vit H. I have to very careful because my son does have a leaky gut, acid reflux and yeast problems and if one supplement is helping something but creating yeast it basically cancels itself out because he'll get the bad behaviors from the yeast. So I'm damned if I do and damned if I don't. Thank you. It has definitely not caused any poor behavior. I buy 600mg caps and I started with 1 and then worked up to 4 or 5 at a time. I think that's a lot, but then again my boy has severe rage and aggression and we were in an emergency situation. He was kicked out of school (illegally) because they just couldn't handle him. I nearly lost my childcare (my parents) because they just couldn't handle him. It's not safe for him be like that. Taurine has been one of our miracle supps. Chelation AC protocol is #1 on the list. Taurine and Biotin #2. Adrenal Cortex has also caused a lot of calming. I took his temp and he was all over the board and I tried Adrenal Cortex Extract. I TRULY believe in adding 1 supp at a time. I have tried so many supps over the years and I was impatient. I would try a few at a time. Then you really don't know if one of the supps is causing the rage. So finally I started over AGAIN and I waited min of 4 or 5 days between supps. If it was calming, I kept it. If not, I put it in a box and might try again later because his needs might change. I'm no expert. In fact I really hate that this is so difficult for me and my boy suffers so badly. He's already 15 yo and the rage gets worse as they get older, bigger, stronger. However chin up, we are on the right track, and AC chelation and Taurine and Biotin and liquid vitamins and ACE help a lot. The mercury is the problem, not the boy, not the mom, not the supps. Guest guest
Hi Deb, I have a 16 yr old son. Are you using dmsa at all? It does seem to cause us problems and I am thinking of trying ala alone. I'm slightly concerned as my son does have a high lead reading. Guest guest
Has the ALA caused any yeast problems for your son? Thanks Jeanne ________________________________ From: mrboysmom <misterboysmom@...> Sent: Sat, January 22, 2011 12:22:58 PM Subject: [ ] Re: Supplements for Behaviors/Deb  ALA alone. I use 25mg ALA every 3 hrs around the clock every other weekend. He is 134 lbs. I tried ALA 33mg and was not happy at all, I much prefer the lower dose. He is so calm on rounds and so happy. It is a wonderful miracle to see him so calm. It has changed our lives. My boy may have high lead also, not sure. We will worry about that later. ALA is what is working right now. Trying the DMSA made him miserable, so we can't go there right now. Guest guest
I have read that Biotin causes yeast....but I have also read that it helps with probiotics. ________________________________ From: mrboysmom <misterboysmom@...> Sent: Sat, January 22, 2011 5:09:08 PM Subject: [ ] Re: Supplements for Behaviors/Deb  I think at the minimum dose it resolves yeast. I think that is what Andy Cutler's book talks about, that using ALA is what removes the mercury, and ultimately resolves the yeast problem. I give Candidase and Capryl and Biotin for yeast. I give them on round and off round. Giving too high a dose of ALA would cause yeast I think. Guest guest
Karla, thank you for the link, I guess I was wrong about Biotin being considered Vit H which I read on another post. It's so hard to determine what works and what doesn't when reading everything.
