Liver life has alcohol in it, milk thistle is effective on it's own why add

alcohol to the mix if uneneccesary?

Its easy to get the alcohol out. Its used as a preservative. Alcohol is also

used as a preservative for various homeopathic remedies. Take the amount of

medicine required in a separate glass bottle and put it in hot water for 5

minutes all the alcohol will evaporate.

Rochelle, will adding boiling water cook the thistle and change its

effectiveness--doubleboiling it?

I did not mean boil the liquid. What i meant is this. Take a small glass bottle.

Pour a little bit of liver life into it(10 drops). Take some water in a cup and

microwave for 1 min(not too hot not too cold). Place bottle with 10 drops of

liver life in the hot water for some time. All alcohol will evaporate. You are

not cooking any of the ingredients in liverlife.

People do this with homeopathic remedies all the time.

Point being liver life is unnecessary and more expensive, milk thistle alone is

more than sufficient dosed 4 x a day.

I get the point. I think what you dont understand is why people are using liver

life. While Milk Thistle is used for liver support, it is not used for drainage.

Liver life on the other hand is used for both Liver Drainage and Support and

hence it is expensive. Since they use alcohol as a preservative in liver life, I

was merely trying to point out how to get rid of the alcohol.

I understood what you meant. Doubleboiling is a cooking term; what you do to

melt chocolate without directly applied heat by using steam or heat from heated

water. I wondered if doubleboiling - using the heat of water/steam to melt or

heat food, or in this case evaporating the alcohol - would change the

effectiveness of Liverlife if heated.
