Hi Ken,

Our ND has recommended this dose for DS. I'm not sure if his recommendation

being the same as Andy's is a coincidence, but I do know that Vitamin A is

integral to gut health. There's an interesting paper called " Innate Immunity,

Gut Integrity, and Vitamin A in Gambian and Indian Infants " (you can probably

find it by googling) and that is one of the reasons I give ds quite a bit of A.

Having said that, we're in a different situation, as ds most definitely has

viral problems, IMO associated with the MMR and chicken pox (and perhaps other

viruses as well, and he clearly still has gut issues, although all of these are

much less than when we started. I can say that ds does well on this dose, long

term. Just in a general sense, the RDAs certainly aren't nearly enough for many

people--but most especially chronically ill people. That is very much the case

for ds in regard to almost any vitamin and mineral there is. So, a higher daily

dose of A makes sense in that way as well.

for the high dose Vit A protocol. I am asking hoping someone would clarify

possibly answer as to why Andy recommended those amounts and for what specific

reasons. Mostly why he said to use Vitamin A at that amount indefinity? From

what I understand maybe for 2-3 months you may use it if you had an ongoing

viral issue or similar condition

people in the field and no one has given an adequate expiation as per his

I would appreciate anyone's input and experience in this. Perhaps Andy may have

recommended to this dose and duration for one of your kids as well. Love to hear

why he recommended it to you too.
