Guest guest
Hey just curious if anyone has dealt with these people before. I call to talk to someone. they say they have a free consultation. then when you call up -you talk to an appt setter who opens an account for you? wants all your contact info, name address email, etc... and childs name, date of birth, etc... before you ever even get to talk to someone about whether or not its a match or a possibility. SOUNDS FISHY!! Unfortunately, i had already been sold on the idea by the website info and was willing to spend the money for treatment and training but now i am too concerned to move ahead. Its sounds like some big sales gimmick- i felt really uncomfortable like it was a scam shannon
Guest guest
not in my opinion. my spouse attended the program. i get the sales pressure aspect of it but if you can do the program it's great. there's some others on the list who have volunteered in a son rise program and can (i assume) also attest to it. i've met raun kaufman and he's very genuine and sincere and seems like an all around nice guy. very patient and eager to help out. that said it's a good amount of work to run the program and find volunteers. ========================== Hey just curious if anyone has dealt with these people before. Guest guest
I don't think it's a scam. But like anything else, I think you should take into consideration that it may take quite a long dedication of time and money to get the results you want. I have found that my efforts were better spent at home observing my child and researching the best ways to teach him. I think there are some really good folks out there for our children, but there are also some who you expect to be the experts and it just doesn't work out or isn't a good fit. I am not trying to sound depressing, just realistic. Just try to make sure you get some more feedback from people who did it before you commit, that would be my suggestion. > > Hey just curious if anyone has dealt with these people before. Guest guest
Along the same lines. (Though it is surprising noone here has ventured further with Son-Rise? what that says about us if not them? .. . or both Take what you can get from it and move from there with what you've got by as much? Try what the website offers (I'd say it's doable in that respect, by yourself?) and if it seems to show promise then perhaps that should speak to Son-Rise's credibility, to go further with it?; don't know what else to tell you otherwise? I measure people by whether they *communicate* with me.. (For what that's worth, of the other?) and don't think much of anything otherwise.. Think of that as the curriculum that matters where you also want to work with those who would respect you of as much, where you're about as much yourself, with respect to the curriculum of your interests? each others? of Communication? .. . How you're treated and what it costs is always the most important thing in telling you what it might be worth (of value...). Things always seem to sound good in theory, no less, no doubt.. I'd be interested in the responses you get from the people who *have* experience working directly with the Son-Rise folks. I don't, but that's how I usually handle such situations until then.. . Yes, I was also somewhat (if not very) impressed by Son-Rise's website/video. It certainly would be worth a second look (and a try, as much as I try things and how far I go with as much? of my ABA? Yes) as far as I'm concerned, with the facts.. . I judge things by the communication aspect of as much (no, not so much by mere language and how we handle ourselves in that respect) in that respect, for what I really want if not expect to get out of things, for what I need, of and by as much no less. I would further involve myself with someone (and something) like that, and not so much otherwise.. . Pleasant researching! (That anyone has wished me as much? .. . Glavic On the *primary* research, that there should be any other (That wouldn't be abusive otherwise? Do The math, for yourself, on how It's done, Thereof (Of Feeling as understanding! and what I wish for Us.. . You/we may be more about language?!. Wherever that has gotten anyone, not so reasonable and true as me.. . As if researching for ourselves isn't what It's all about?!. > > > > Hey just curious if anyone has dealt with these people before. Guest guest
No, not a scam. Get their free DVDs and watch them to learn more about it or read " Son-Rise " by Barry Neil Kaufman about their recovery of their own son, Raun. I volunteered in two Son-Rise programs, which were significantly different because the commitment of the parents differed significantly. It's not for everyone. I also volunteered at Option (not in the Son-Rise program) for 4 months. is son-rise treatment a scam? Guest guest
Probably they just need to be told about their intake procedures where they operate? .. . That wouldn't surprise me.. . I've always known that how you start is so pivotal to what follows (On the direct if not so directional?) I find many people and organizations slip-up in that respect, Lord knows why, given how important that step is to moving The ball forward (Voila?!. I can see giving them another chance. I find trying to connect with the government (or justice system) a disaster, so it doesn't surprise me that other things fail at as much, in getting started? .. . They (Son-Rise) could probably use my help, or your help (?) .. . Maybe they just want to help for free, (if not a Thank-you? if not something smarter.. .) that really need help? (Of somewhat having done a psycho-analysis?) I think they may *just* have provided enough for that.. . I appreciate what they have provided for free, (so free?) wherever that takes me I do *ABA* (something like It? Objective Communication?)) so applying what I've already learned shouldn't be a problem in that respect, of where I go with as much? .. . (I Figure I understand how Communication really works in that respect, of Justness Best wishes, (Thereof? .. . Glavic Just try to talk with them. If they're no good for that don't waste your time with them of as much? I suspect they should prove themselves in that respect.. . (That I don't? .. . Whatever, that I want or need to be like anyone otherwise > > No, not a scam. Guest guest
We did not participate in the program but I will be forever thankful that 'Son-Rise' by kaufman was one of the first books I came across following all the dismal medical proclamations. It details the Kaufman's day to day work in helping/healing their son - diet, non stimulatory environment to relearn skills[the bathroom!], their need for helpers and how they trained them, etc. It's full of good ideas. It opened my perspective and gave me hope in the 1980s when all were nay sayers. > > No, not a scam. Guest guest
We never did the program either but I too am forever greatful for the book and the movie. It remains an inspiration to me. I've had the fortune of meeting Raun Kaufman at a conference, sweet, wonderful guy, definitely fully recovered. I've known others who have done the program and love it. The only reason we didn't pursue is because we're doing RDI which frankly is very similar and I was able to get the funding paid. http://aydansrecovery.blogspot.com/ From: mbrookh <mbrookh@...> Subject: [ ] Re: is son-rise treatment a scam?
