But it wasn't until a friend of mine, who is a certified nutritionist called me about this supplement that got my attention. I bought a used book from Amazon.com called Olive Leaf Extract, by Dr. Morton . The supplement is anti-viral and anti-bacterial. I have not even had the sniffles this winter, and I live in Mi. By this time I normally have a case of bronchial inflamation that takes 2 or 3 months on a very strong antibiotic to cure me. I also take some other supplements for the FMS and RA that I have had for 12 years. I think the body can be healed and we just have to find that "block" that is going to work for us. Guest guest
, there is a website called www.roadback.org that you may want to visit. this explains a antibiotic treatment for autoimmune diseases. I did this treatment for my RA and it was VERY successful! There are other supplements I take now also, but reading Dr. Morton's book and his approach with the Olive Leaf Extract was so exciting for me. One thing it did for me was correct my digestive issues. Good luck and if you have any questions at all, you can email me at my regular email epra01@... Guest guest
I live in Owosso, which is between Flint and Lansing. I got my first bottle at GNC and then ordered from the net from Vitacost. You need to get the supplement with more than 10%oleuropein. Dr. Morton says that is very important. GNC is 12%, Vitacost was 18%. I also use 1 drop of Oregano Oil under my tongue--this is very good for the "crud". this stuff tastes terrible, so I take a good drink of water afterwards and then a stick of mint gumL:). I am looking forward to a winter of no antibiotics as only the strong ones will work for me! blessings, Elaine Brecker <davidbrecker@...> wrote: Hi i live in michigan and i have been sick since thanksgiving and i cannot get rid of it. where do you get olive leaf extract i am willing to try anything, i am going to order the book soon. i live in wyoming MI where abouts are you elaine? epratt72 <epratt72 > wrote: I have been taking Olive Leaf Extract now for about 6 weeks. what a difference it has made in how I feel. Guest guest
Jacquie, I was living on Amodium AD, as strong as I could get. I couldn't even take a chance on going out to eat because of the diarrhea afterwards. It is GONE! and has been now for about a month. I even had roast beef last night and a little bit of gravy. No problem!! I do use one drop of Oregano Oil under the tongue, also, which is suppose to be good for the gut. Olive Leaf Extract is suppose to take care of yeast in the body, so maybe this is what i have experienced. It seem so good! Good luck and it won't hurt to try it. There is lots of info on websites so "google" it. My quest in life now, is to help everyone that I can with FM & RA that asks. Guest guest
Hi Elaine, I thought this sounded like a great idea and bought some 500 mg capsules. Anyway I took a capsule the other night and proceeded to be violently sick to my stomach for several hours. I noticed that Heidi said she takes 150 mg capsules so was wondering how much you take. Also wondering if either of you were nauseated after taking them. Think maybe I was suffering from what they call 'die-off'..not sure. I'm nervous about it now. ine> dominie > From: heidilhlokey@...> Date: Thu, 24 Jan 2008 20:48:42 +0000> Subject: Re: Olive Leaf Extract> > > >> > > I take it too 150 miligrams also witht he acidelophus too. ben on it > for one week will see in 6 weeks.I get mine from good ole Wallmart > same stuff as the health food store but less $$$ for those on fixed > incomes too. huge heidi> > > I have been taking Olive Leaf Extract now for about 6 weeks. what a > > difference it has made in how I feel. Guest guest
Hi ine, no, I was not sick to my stomach at all, in fact my digestion problem is mostly gone. I take 2/ 500mg either once or twice a day. there is "die off" with this if you have bacteria or "other little creatures" living in the body, especially yeast. I think yeast was a big problem for me, even tho I have used Diflucan and Nystantin when I would take an antibiotic, or take them after finishing an antibiotic. I can understand you being nervous about it, but in Dr. Morton's book, there are supposedly no side effects at all. You might wait a while, and try it again. You may have had an unrealted stomach bug, too. I have not seen them in 150mg advertised, so I don't know what she got. All of the ones were 500mg and at least 12% orleuropein to be effective. good luck! Guest guest
Hi Heidi, just make sure your Olive Leaf Extract is at least 12% Oleuropein as that is the strength it takes to be effective according to Dr. Morton. I take 2/ 500mg capsules 1-2 x's a day. I noticed a difference right away it seemed, but now that I have been on it for about 6 weeks, I feel really good. Yesterday out of the blue, my right arm was very tender in the bicep and my shoulder area. It is much better today and i took 4 OLE . yesterday, so I am wondering if it is die off for me as that will happen if there is something there like yeast, that needs to go. You may have to up your dosage of the 150mg ones to get some result. Good luck and God Bless--this FMS is not an easy project. But, I am trying my best to "have a life" and heal my body. Guest guest
You know, ine, we are "strange" in what we tolerate. I can't take calcium, magnesium, or Vit C. My muscles all through my rib cage will tighten right up and I will get a lot of soreness in my rib cage. try to tell a doctor that one! We are all different and yes, it is very annoying!! best of luck Elaine P.S. we are all in this together and it takes putting our heads together to get some sort of relief and to stay sane. pauline <foggynanny@...> wrote: Thanks for the info Elaine. Guest guest
-Hi, My name is Leah T. I get the same pain in my rib cage and then for days it feels like I have been hit with a baseball bat. It is really bad if I am out somewhere or visiting. I take calcium w/vitamin D. I never thought about it being the calcium causing it. This is one of the reasons I joined this group who but one of us would understand that one. Guest guest
Well, that Olive leaf extract just sounded too good so I bought some today. I've been having a terrible couple of days. It rained here yesterday and I know it's coming before the Weathermen do. I went to my pain Dr on Wednesday and he took me off of Lodine and put me on Tramadol, Elavil and Soma. I've had Soma before and just take it at night occasionally. I'm not sure the Tramadol is doing anything yet. I had to leave work early Friday and my boss wasn't very happy about it. It's a 2 person office so when I'm gone, guess what happens to the work! He thinks I'm always suppose to be there and his needs are way more important than mine. I get sick leave from the company. He's not sympathetic at all. I wonder if I had to leave work to get chemo treatments if he would be any more understanding...probably not... Maybe if I had a cast on a body part or a hacking cough he would think I was sick. Maybe a big ol capital F on my forehead... I hate this syndrome. Never miss a thing. Make your homepage. Guest guest
Hey gals, I hope this works for you also!! I know this "syndrome??" is the pits. You may have "die off" with it, so if you feel a little worse, it may be working. I did experience some. Do some research on the internet about it, if you haven't already. The directions on most of the bottles is 6 per day, but start out with just one and work up as you can tolerate it. Dr. Morton recommends this in his book. Elaine <cindyinmd55@...> wrote: I bought the olive leaf extract today too. we are all wanting this to work so I hope it helps. everyone that is just starting it please try to tell us how it is working for you. I am starting mine tomorrow.>> Well, that Olive leaf extract just sounded too good so I bought some today. I hate this syndrome.> > ---------------------------------> Never miss a thing. Make your homepage.> Looking for last minute shopping deals? Find them fast with Search. Guest guest
Wow it sounds like you work for MY boss! He hates that I am out any time and then I end up feeling guilty and worrying about my job because I'm single and cannot afford to loose it. I looked for Olive leaf extract in Costco and didn't see it. Where did you buy it? Tramadol is about the only one I can take while at work and it works better for me if I take it with either Naprosin (Alieve) or Ibuprofin (which my doctor doesn't want me taking because it's hard on the kidneys). I get pretty good relief if I take it with one of those. It's raining here today also and I was in pain all day yesterday - a little today but better. The Lyrica has so helped my leg pain. Have a good day and let's get our bosses together! LOL hugs in Phx M <kt_55@...> wrote: Well, that Olive leaf extract just sounded too good so I bought some today. Guest guest
I started Olive Leaf Extract yesterday. I am also taking Tramadol and Plaquenil. Hopefully it is all Ok. If anybody knows differently let me know. I am hoping to get some relief from it since it is natural. My doc wanted to start Methotrexate in 2 months if my pain doesn't get better. I also have mild Lupus and early RA Never miss a thing. Make your homepage.
Guest guest
I get the digest version of the newsgroup and sometimes its a little confusing so i just wanted to ask acouple of things. When people take the Olive leaf extract they are best to take 500 mg?? with no less that 12% active ingredient. Correct? HOW MANY TIMES A DAY DO YOU TAKE IT? Another question. Regarding the question about whether people have other problems going on other that FMS and CMP like RA, lupus etc...I understand that most people that are taking the olive leaf extract are people that have these other things and are taking it mostly because the RA etc. is helped a lot by the O L extract. The FMS/CMP is not helped much by the extract???? Am I reading things correctly? So ppl with only FM and CMP will not likely benefit much if at all from the extract? Thanks in advance for your input. Guest guest
You had questions about Olive Leaf Extract, whether it helped both RA & FMS. I have FMS issues now. The RA is in total remission and I did an antibiotic treatment and CMO, a supplement, for that. But yes, OLE is suppose to help RA. I have had the FMS issue for about 7 years. I have taken lots of supplements and tried many things. I feel like thie OLF is what I was missing as I am doing sooooo much better. But, that is not all that I use. I take Monolaurin, another supplement, I do chiropractic,(which I have curvature of the spine, so I need it, but it also helps with my muscle issue caused by stress), I get deep trigger point massage occassionaly and I still take the CMO and a multi vitamin. I take Etodolac for any inflammation and that works for me. I do have Lyrica, which the dr. gave me a script for, before I started the Olive Leaf Extract. I take it very seldom. I will say, if I eat breads or any thing made of wheat, I will get a trigger and will ache. depending on how much I indulge, will determine how sore I get:)! So, I think I have some food sensitivities--in fact I know I do. There are so many factors in our condition, there may be more than one trigger, so we have to be in tune with our bodies and figure out what makes me sore. Then too, there are several supplements that will trigger soreness for me. One is fish oil! another is magnesium and calcium. These comments are just my opinion, So, I hope this info helps whoever may be interested. Guest guest
, I feel for you if you don't get any acknowlegement of your pain at work. I sure don't. I worked 3 hours on Friday and then had to go home I was hurting so badly. He called me a couple hours later in a panic because he couldn't find something. I had to go to the office and get what he was looking for. I wouldn't have minded if he had just been nice about it rather than treating me like an indentured slave! Then this morning, I'm still hurting but back at work and all he said was Good Morning and went to his office. It makes it very awkward when we are the only 2 people in the office. And after working together for more than 4 years, you'd think there would be some concern, but I guess not...I had to get off the Tramadol- it was doing nothing for me. I'm on Darvacet now and trying the Olive Leaf Extract. Darvacet makes me hallucinate too- not as bad as Lyrica but I still see things that aren't there. I got my OLE at Wal Mart for $6.00- that's for 60 capsules. I'm glad the Lyrica is working for you! What kind of work do you do? What is it with men bosses that is so uncaring?!? You can bet when he doesn't feel well, that's all we talk about. And having that guilt of being out doesn't help the fibro at all, does it? I hope you find the OLE and see if it helps you too. We should get our bosses together! and let us go some place peaceful and pleasant! Take care! Looking for last minute shopping deals? Find them fast with Search.
