Le Creuset is expensive and heavy, but I believe it is inert and safe.

Cast Iron NON prep cookware! We cook everything in the good ole Cast Iron pans!

It's great! A trait that has been lost. You can't buy Cast Iron pans that has

been prep with Soy.....I'll send a link of the ONLY company we found that

doesn't do such.

I own Le Creuset enameled pots right now, newer models, and am planning to get

rid of them IF I find that they are using uranium to color the enamel. When our

hair tests came back with uranium in the red, I was shocked. I started running

down the list of where the uranium could be coming from at home. Our soil or

our dishes and cookware were the likely suspects.

After reading this article from the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission on uranium

being used again to color enamel:

http://www.wise-uranium.org/dviss.html#ENAMELF, I knew I needed to contact Le

Creuset.

Thankfully, I also have a set of cast iron (extra iron's not a problem for us)

and a set of glass pans to use until I find out for sure what Le Creuset is

using to color their product. IF Le Creuset isn't for us, then I'll be looking

into soapstone, certain stoneware, or adding to my set of glass cookware.

For cooking utensils, I use ones made from bamboo and from stainless steel. The

stainless steel utensils always sit on a spoonrest when not in use. They don't

have the opportunity to heat up too much in a pot or pan full of food then.

" The less shiny the stainless steel pot, the less nickel and other metals it

contains. " -- sent to me by a metal-sensitive cooking friend. Can't recall now,

but I believe she told me that you could check the grading-system stamp on the

pot to see how much steel a pot consists of.

Here are a few sources I've found by Googling; you can indicate whether you want

pre-seasoned or unseasoned:

I bought my very old set from a garage sale, and inherited a Griswold. The

Griswold is my favorite skillet to cook with.

Hi Sheila,

Can you let me know where did you get the cast iron and what brand are they?

I just got le creuset, the one i got is white inside, do you know if this is a

problem?

My son has a lot of nickel from UTM (must be from the stainless steel pots and

pans we are using).

Well, he has aluminum, cadmium, barium, antimony along with lead and arsenic,

uranium, tin and tungsten (i cant figure out where these coming from).

Thank you and i appreciate your help!
