Guest guest
> Hi Dana, > No its not an established medical hypothesis. I have seen it in my kid, that's why i was asking if you have come across it. I have read it written in several public messages, but so far no one has been able to identify the source. I just wondered where people were reading it. > When I dropped Betacarotene from food, his Retinol started getting down towards normal range. My son did not convert carotenes into vitamin A until I corrected his thyroid condition. Until that time, giving him carotene foods caused what looked like brain poisoning. > when I reserached, I came to notice that Vit D is hydroxylated to its absorbable form in Liver and Vit A is stored(if high amounts) in liver and fatty tissues in the body. Vitamins A, D, E, and K are all fat soluble. > I came to conclusion that Liver is over taxed to make D absorbable because of Vitamin A storage as well as other pathogen killing in the body etc. Well, the liver is overtaxed in many kids. I can see that if the liver is overtaxed, there would be a problem with all four of the fat soluble vitamins. > This was was a WOW! for me, as my very experienced DAN! was surprised too. Have you come across anything like this before.......? It sounds like a possibility. The high dose vitamin A protocol is only two days tho, so I doubt two days of high dose A will have a major effect on vitamin D levels.
