Guest guest
I got rid of the acne with glutathione, which I now know is not a good idea. I hear its supposed to be bromine being released (acne). I don`t really know though. I agree with Irene, lower the dose. I lowered the dose and still got a bad headache and felt odd for a bit -after a week or two- the side effects went away. Perhaps you could lower the dose? And likewise perhaps for you the side effects will wane? Irene > > For those of you who use iodine successfully, did you ever experience side effect of acne? If so, is there some way to remedy this? I tried Iodoral for 1 week, developed very, very painful acne in my ears and nose (strange). May be coincidental, but I have never experienced this before. Just wondering if there is a way to prevent adverse reactions like this. >
Guest guest
some of us also had the metallic taste ...that is supposedly the bromide detox...went away after i drank a glass of sea salt water...literally the taste was gone! i think some also benefit from pulse dosing...taking a day off here and there...we take it only during the week and none on weekends... Guest guest
this is just a guess but i wonder if when you were off the synthroid you may have been stressing your adrenals and that caused the weight loss..not a healthy way to go about it for sure and would have eventually caught up with you....then on synthroid you may not be taking enough med or you may not be able to convert that T4 med to the needed T3....you might like a med like naturethroid or one like armour... Â also since you had breast cancer have you looked at the iodine protocol on the breast cancer choices website?? very good.. Â also sometimes iodine will make people gain weight ...not sure if you are still on iodine...but that is a thought too.. From: jtmk98.535597 <lysva29798-dnttrst@...> Subject: [ ] Re: Iodine users, side effects Date: Saturday, February 26, 2011, 12:17 PM Â I had a lot of blood tests done lately, but the lab used the wrong procedure for my iodine test, so I don't know where I stand with that until I get it retested (never tested before for iodine). I tried replacing Synthyroid with Lugol's (2 drops per day last year), but my thyroid readings (all 3 main ones tested) got very low, I was feeling awful, losing hair, etc, so am back on Synthyroid again. I'm still on the 2 drops of Lugol's p/day and putting it on topically, too (had a double mastectomy a year ago). Recently I've added 12.5 mg Iodoral and plan to get that iodine test tried again. What I want to ask is: last year, while I was off the synthyroid, I was able to lose 1 lb. per week dieting(that's good for me), but this year, while back on the Synthyroid, I can't budge a pound staying at 1200 calories a day (good nutrition), and I'm moderately active. I thought helping a hypothyroid was supposed to help lose weight, but my circumstance seems just the opposite! Anybody shed any light on this? > > > > I wasn't aware of that group either. Thanks.
