Guest guest
Hello All! My son is 10 and severely autistic. His speech is limited to requests, he has no interest in any activity, only running around the house, sprinkling water, stimming. He is on GFCF and sugar-free diet since December 2009. I have some major concerns about him: He stopped growing since we started the diet. His teeth stopped changing. We checked his thyroid, the tests came back normal. They did change before diet. His milk intake was not big at that time, and I didn't give him additional calcium before. Now he gets it even more. Why his teeth stopped changing? Should we start something therapeutically for his thyroid? We checked his cortisol, and it was abnormal. If we start AdrenErgizer will this also help thyroid and improve his growth? Also, he developed occasional toe walking. What could be reason for this? He developed " goose skin " all over his body - shoulders, back, elbows, hips, under knees. What it can be? He is taking the following supps: Enzymes and Probiotics, Milk Thistle Vitamin A, E, C, B50, B5, P5P, biotin Magnesium, Zinc, Selen, Calcium, Molybdenum MB12, folinic, TMG DHA, PhosChol, Lauricidin. GSE and Oil of Oregano - according to symptoms of candida. We did 10 rounds of frequent dose chelation with 5mg of DMSA. Right after taking the first dose, he played a pretend game first time in our life. But it was the only single episode. Does it mean that : 1. He needs higher dose, or 2. I need to wait 50-70 rounds that candida will get down and I will see more progress? We tried antivirals: OLE and ViraStop. With ViraStop, he complained about stomach pain, and actually cried right after taking a capsule. What this could mean, any idea would be greatly appreciated. With OLE I saw no obvious changes. Actually, I do not see any good changes in him during this year. The only difference is that he became calmer when we took sugar away. But, he is often excausted, He depends on enzymes, otherwise gets reflux. When he coughs occasionally, he holds his stomach and says it hurts. In terms of play and activity he actually regressed. He doesn't want to go on the playground. He watches his baby video fifth year in a row, and listens to his preschool CDs as always. I am planning to keep on chelation, but I am not sure what else should I do to help him to progress. Now he still doesn't develop any new skills. I know that we lost many years, and he is a big boy with autism, but I still want to help him. I will appreciate any advice, Thank you so much in advance, .
