Guest guest
I am having doubts about whether LEXAPRO is really worth it for me. I have been on it for about 2 weeks and I *do* feel better and generally have more energy, focus, and am getting back to enjoying the things I once enjoyed (my major reason for being on the medication). I am even losing weight. I am surprised that some of you gain weight on it and feel drowsy, as it seems to have just the opposite effect on me. However, the side-effects are really getting on my nerves. My pupils are still dilating (for the first 8 hours and then off & on thereafter). Even worse, the diarrhoea seems to be getting worse not better. I have to wonder now if my eyes will EVER return to normal if I stay on Lexapro. Will my colon ever 'stabalise' ?!? :-) Any thoughts? I've also noticed the 'delayed ejaculation' becoming a reality ... but it is just delayed, not made impossible. If any of you have dealt with any of these symptoms and they've diminished or gone away, I'd like to hear from you. Thanks. I guess I have to wonder if there is another medication that would be better for me (though they ALL seem to dilate my eyes). == RICHARD OF ATLANTA [bIG BUNNY] LIFE: http://home.earthlink.net/~dbunny/ LOVE: http://outpages.com/bigbunny/ WORK: http://www.hasimusic.com SOUL: http://www.factoryfarming.com/ == Think occasionally of the suffering of which you spare yourself the sight. ==
Guest guest
I hqave been on lex for almost a year now. I find it weight neutral. I lost a few pounds, but never gained any. Considering all the meds I am on, its a miracle. I have never experienced the pupil dialation. The only sides I noticed from lex was the tremor, which I had before taking meds, and diarhea....My sides went away around the 4 week point.'' I also take NONI Juice along with a Coral Calcium Complex. I Take for my kidneys. I suffer from kidney disease. But it also seemed to help with some of the sides I experienced with Lex......Just my view....... Jacquie p.s. Guest guest
Hey ! I too have experienced a MARKED improvement on Lexapro, and I've been on it for a while now, so I thought I'd write to tell you that by the end of my second month on Lexapro, I was no longer having ANY side effects. The diarrhea, which, admittedly, is the grossest possible side-effect in the universe, was totally gone in a month. I never had pupil-dialation, so I can't really comment on that. The only SE that I ever get any more is occasional nausea 1-3 hours after taking my daily dose. It's very mild, but seems unaffected by food vs. no-food. My psychiatrist tells me its a neurological side-effect, not actual stomach irritation. Anyway...as far as I'm concerned, a little brief nausea is a more than acceptable trade-off for freedom from crippling fear and suicidal ideation. I'm leary of making quasi-salvific claims about commercial pharmicuticals, but I have to say that since I've started on Celexa (and then on to Lexapro), I have gotten my life back. I feel human again. Good luck to you! PS, Delayed ejaculation...well...without being too graphic, let me just say...ummm...I don't really think of it as a " side effect " so much as " totally fucking cool " . Guest guest
Well, I've decided to go off the medication. I honestly don't think I need it ... I just need more exercise and activity! I question whether it was ever a good idea. I am basically uncomfortable taking a psychotropic drug--full stop--never mind the side effects. I can assure you all that, at the most, I was only a little down and inactive. I hardly think I need to medicate my way out of that. Clearly these drugs work for those people who need it (I have a friend who is bipolar) but I just don't think I am one of those people. I am far too happy and hopeful ... especially now that I am in love with a great guy and my life is going well! Thank you all for your thoughts and stories though! If anything, I might benefit from a drug that helps me focus and makes my brain less frantically scattered ... Ritalin? Suggestions? :-) == RICHARD OF ATLANTA [bIG BUNNY] LIFE: http://home.earthlink.net/~dbunny/ LOVE: http://outpages.com/bigbunny/ WORK: http://www.hasimusic.com SOUL: http://www.factoryfarming.com/ == Think occasionally of the suffering of which you spare yourself the sight. ==
Guest guest
The hair test normalizes a very long time before the person is completely well, per Andy. You don't stop chelating until your son is 100%, no issues, can eat anything and doesn't need supplements, no allergies, no delays. But good job, you're on the right track! > > My son (now 4) has had 4 hair tests since Feb 2009. > > Feb 2009: Counting Rule #3 met. > Aug 2009: Counting Rule #2 met. > (Jan 2010: ALA chelation started.) > Sep 2010: Counting Rule #4 met. > Jan 2011: No counting rules met. > > He also tested positive for mercury with the French porphyrins test in 2009. > > He's been chelating with ALA for a year now, with a couple of short breaks. Now that no counting rules are met, should I continue with the chelation? He has improved greatly this last year, a lot of sensory issues are gone as well as the OCD tendencies. Not sure if he's 100% recovered, or just has a lot of catching up to do with language and all. > > Is it possible that the mercury could be gone in just one year of chelation? I thought it took longer. Any input greatly appreciated. >
Guest guest
OK then! I shall carry on.
