Guest guest
My older son used to do that. He would say something and then repeat it in a whisper after he said it. I don't know why he did it and sometimes he would deny doing it and sometimes he would admit it. I would tease him by doing it myself, in a loving way of course He would laugh and go " oh no, I can't help it! " That was my way of making him aware he was doing it, and he doesn't do it anymore now. Thinking that kind of strange thing is something where the brain is healing from the damage and they are rehearsing somehow, their new-found confidence in saying what's on their mind or whatever? He hasn't done it in awhile, but I will let you know if it comes back after starting up chelation again (after about 3 weeks break), as it sometimes does. He used to have some motor tics, they left completely. And, come to think of it, they may be related to new-found ability to stimulate nerve pathways and could have been a healing process as well. > > My two sons are doing something weird....they do it at different times...so it isn't a copycat thing, I don't think. > > They will say something and then mouth the words without making a sound. Sometimes they will just mouth words and not say anything. I watched to see if it was related to emotional responses...but I can't find a common thread there...just unrelated at any time for any reason...no clues as to why....anybody???? > > TIA > Ronni >
Guest guest
This is my tic kiddo....he was on risperdal for years...before I got peeved cause his drs were saying he was developing it from that but wouldn't take him off...so I did. But this is something odd... We do something similar...he's 13 in age..and what we do is I explained to him about staring people....he asked...that it was like a light on over his head....and now we say " Turn the light off, " and he understands laughs and reaches up and pulls the light switch off....but it is still not something I would like to continue if we can find a way to get rid of it. Thanks for respsonding Ronni > > > > My two sons are doing something weird....they do it at different times...so it isn't a copycat thing, I don't think. > > > > They will say something and then mouth the words without making a sound.
